Located in the western part of the province on the Waterhen River, Meadow Lake Provincial Park and its cottage rentals are scattered amongst trembling aspen, birch, and pine forests. Encompassing 25 freshwater lakes in an area of almost 1,600 square kilometers, this northern boreal parkland also offers one of the best southern views of the Northern Lights!
The park’s trails cater to horseback riders, hikers and bikers in the summer, and cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and snowmobilers in the winter. The region’s incredible range of wildlife species—such as beavers, black bears, deer, elk, great blue herons, and moose—make Meadow Lake a perfect place see wildlife all year round. Water sport enthusiasts are also well-served, as the park’s freshwater lakes and many rivers provide opportunities for paddling, swimming, and fishing for northern pike, walleye, and a variety of trout. Golfers will enjoy playing a game at Look Lake & District Golf and Country Club.
A three hour’s drive from either Saskatoon or Prince Albert, a trip to Meadow Lake makes for an authentic Canadian wilderness retreat and is a popular place to rent a cottage in Saskatchewan.+ More
