INSIDE THE HOUSE
Breath in the fresh salt air; you’ve arrived at the perfect Cape Cod getaway. The crushed-shell driveway has room for up to 3 cars.
Stepping inside, the inviting kitchen has exposed brick, white cabinets, and full-size appliances. Extras like a coffee maker, blender, toaster, and ample pots and pans help you put meals on the table.
Dine around the wood dining table with 4 captain’s chairs, taking in the water views out the large bay window. The kitchen bar has 2 more chairs for extra guests.
Off the main living area, the master welcomes you to sleep easy in the queen bed, decorated with a pretty quilt. With double closets and 2 dressers, there’s plenty of storage space. Next door, a full bath has a dual sink vanity, shower/tub combo, and stacked washer and dryer.
Gleaming hardwood floors feature in the sunken living room, where you will enjoy the showpiece floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and exposed wood ceiling beams. Spend quality time together, lounging on the couch and armchairs, appreciating the water views through the sliding glass doors leading out to the deck.
As the world wakes up, sip on coffee out on the 900 sq/ft mahogany deck. A picnic table encourages al fresco dining in the warmer months.
French doors lead from the living room into the den, where extra guests can sleep on the sleeper sofa. Grab a book from the library and settle into a comfy chair.
Watch the sun rise from the 2nd bedroom, where 3 large windows overlook the bay and a private deck offers a quiet retreat. The room is outfitted with a queen bed, crisp blue-and-white seashell bedding, and a desk tucked into an alcove.
Down the hallway is the 2nd full bath with single vanity and step-in shower. In the 3rd bedroom, guests can rest easy in 2 twin beds with white ruffled comforters. Built-ins offer storage and the room has a Pack-and-Play for young guests.
Some of the best fishing on the Cape is right from the shared dock, where you can also keep your boat. The calm waters are great for paddle boarding and kayaking too. You’ll also have direct access to Nauset Inlet and the Outer Beach.
Head into the Orleans town center (3 minutes) for shopping at boutique stores and art galleries, or pick up groceries and other supplies. Warm up with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate at Hot Chocolate Sparrow (5 minutes) and stop in for lunch at Hole in One Breakfast and Lunch (4 minutes).
It’s just a short 14-minute drive to the spectacular Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, and the calmer, warmer waters of the Bay Beaches. Nickerson State Park (8 minutes) boasts over 1,900 acres of beautiful natural beauty. It offers camping, hiking trails, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and a wheelchair accessible beach.
