Drive up beautiful Highway 66 from Ashland and you will find yourself at the Mountain Retreat at Hyatt Lake. Our home is graced with all the comforts you will need for a relaxing and/or adventurous stay. Whether you are looking for a peaceful place to watch nature from every window or a hub to explore the outdoors, the Mountain Retreat is your place. Sitting on 10 acres of mountain wilderness overlooking beautiful Hyatt Lake our home is a sanctuary of mountain living. You will love the view from our grand tree house and swinging in its chair swings anytime of year.
In the summer the weather is exceptionally mild and beautiful. Hyatt Lake is a wonderful fishing lake for enjoying its quiet beauty. If renting a boat (or bringing your own) and water skiing is on your list of activities, Howard Prairie is a short 5 minute drive away. Lake of the Woods is only 20 minutes.
A typical winter brings us snow that turns our property into an ideal sledding zone or base for cross country skiing or snow mobiling. In fact, one of the locals favorite snow parks is down the road. For hikers, the Pacific Crest Trail has two entrances just a five minute drive away or you can hike the BLM land that backs up to our property. The charming town of Ashland is a 40 minute drive down the gorgeous (yet curvy) well maintained Highway 66. Ashland is renowned for its Shakespeare Festival, Cafes, and shops. There are also wonderful wineries and tasting rooms throughout Jackson County for some fun day trips. One of the seven wonders of the world, Crater Lake, is about a two hour drive from the Mountain Retreat. There is plenty of room for a family to spread out and enjoy themselves. The Master Bedroom with its own bathroom and large walk-in closet, is surrounded with windows and light that make you feel like you are sleeping among the stars and trees. There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms downstairs- each with quality linens and bedding.
Our favorite room in the house is the kitchen, it is part of a perfectly sized open family room and dining room which makes it an ideal place for family gatherings. The kitchen has all the appliances and cooking/baking equipment to satisfy the chef in your household. There is a six-burner stove, griddle, and warming tray, along with two ovens. In the family room there is a large flatscreen TV with cable television and DVD player. If you have horses and enjoy hitting the trails, we have three corrals that can also be rented out to you during your stay. For an additional fee we allow well trained dogs. We take great pride in making our home a special place that makes guests feel welcome, a home to make wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
