Set right off of mountain trails, this cozy yet very roomy bungalow has updated electric, instant/endless hot water and great heating. Tackon was built circa 1900 into the side of the mountain and has a few angled rooms and different levels. It sits on a dead end road that ends on one of the mountain's trailheads. Road traffic; just a car or two a day, hiker foot traffic during hiking season. This home is fun for all seasons. In summer you can hike right out of the door, and the same for winter snowmobiling. Maine's second largest lake is 4 miles away, enjoy the public beach pass while you are here. Ski day or night at Shawnee Peak only 20 minutes away.
The first floor has a small kitchen with updated appliances just off of a dining area. There is a half bath, a good size (21' x 25') living room having a memory foam king size pull-out couch, a working brick fireplace and a sunken (12' x 17') library with a comfy queen size futon as well as a 18′ x 8′ screened in porch with a wooded mountain view.
The second floor has a very large (25' x 21') master bedroom, a cozy (14' x 17') guest bedroom, roomy living/bed room with bunkbeds (16' x 19' with 9' x 9' cove) and a full bath with double sinks.
This property accommodates six people easily, and it is well stocked with kitchen items. Bed covers provided, towels and sheets can be provided for an additional minimal fee.
Seven minutes drive to Sebago lake, just over two hours from Boston, and forty-five minutes from Portland or North Conway, NH and 20 minutes to Shawnee Peak!+ More
