Myself and 5 of my close friends had a wonderful girls weekend getaway at the Mystic Point Cottage. The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and met all our needs. We honestly didnt have any complaints. All your instructions, and the homeowners instructions were very clear which made the whole experience easy and stress free! Its close proximity to the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club gave us the opportunity to enjoy a full day of cross country skiing. The post Ski hot tub at the cottage was a highlight to our trip! Our only drawback was that we wished we could have stayed longer! Ken and staff at Kawartha Cottage Vacations was a pleasure to deal with. Myself and all the members of our group will definitely be renting from them again. -Jennifer C. (Feb. 2017)
The cottage was absolutely beautiful, very clean, and spacious (we were a party of 6) with everything you would need for an excellent vacation. It's close proximity to the amenities in Buckhorn was convenient for groceries or shopping. The view of the lake is breathtaking and the availability of kayaks made exploring the lake easy. Very relaxing vacation destination that I would highly recommend!! -Bart, Niagara Falls (Aug. 2016)
We were very comfortable during our stay at Mystic Point Lakehouse. The cottage is new, clean, and modern, and the rental fee for mid season was quite reasonable, in comparison to other cottages wed looked at. We loved having the use of two kayaks, a paddle boat, and a stand up paddleboard, and a selection of lifejackets in various sizes were provided. The hot tub was a big hit with the entire family, and got plenty of use each day. Between all of that, plus the campfire pit, pool table, satellite tv, and internet access, there was plenty to keep all of us, from kids to teens to adults, entertained. Although the shoreline around the cottage is much too weedy for swimming, we discovered a small public beach in Buckhorn, tucked in behind the Pizza Alloro. We also discovered a couple of larger beaches within easy driving distance (Sandy Lake Beach, and Selwyn Beach Conservation Area). The fishing in the area was quite good.our 13 year old caught a 15 large mouth bass right off the dock! The town of Buckhorn is nearby (5 minute drive) and so it was easy to get whatever we needed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again! -Andrea K.
Our family had a great time at the Mystic Point Lakehouse! We found the lakehouse clean and organized upon our arrival, with helpful instructions throughout. The interior is beautifully decorated, well furnished, and has plenty of space for a large group compared to most cottages. Our group ranged in age from 6 months to over 40 and there was plenty for everyone to do between the beautiful and spacious interior, pool table, hot tub, barbecue, huge yard, firepit, and dock...plus the provided canoe/paddleboat/paddle board. We caught plenty of fish and grilled our catch on the barbecue. I am hoping to bring my parents for their 40th anniversary next summer. Thanks to the owner and Kawartha Cottage Vacations for some great memories. -Ned Ragbar (June 2016)
