The perfect spot. Out the back door is a tidal salt marsh, part of Maine's Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Literally 100 steps from the front door is gorgeous Hills Beach and the breakwater at the Saco River's entrance to the Atlantic. At low tide you can walk the sandbar to Basket Island and it's a quick 2.6 mile walk, run or drive to the 'big beach' Fortune's Rocks.
This cottage sleeps 6; queen beds in both bedrooms and a convertible sofa in the living room. It's a bright and cheerful home and a comfortable place to sit and read, watch TV or enjoy the scenery when you're not at the beaches.
Bufflehead's restaurant is just a few doors down. Only 5 miles travel gets you to Biddeford's local breweries, distilleries, restaurants and shopping . University of New England is under a mile away. There's plenty to explore in close proximity whether you're walking, running, biking, driving - or just stepping out the door on Hills Beach Road.
This is the life!
