Take pleasure in your own sandy beach on the world-renowned Cabot Trail. A newly groomed and marked trail along the property's natural brook will lead you from your front door to the Atlantic Ocean (approx. 3 min walk). Our location holds the perfect balance of rural coastlines, neighboring shops and mountain vistas.
You will have exclusive use of our newly renovated two-story, three-bedroom home (2 queen,1 single over double bunk bed plus futon) with 1.5 baths, spacious dining room, fully equipped kitchen, sitting room, sun room, and laundry room with washer and dryer. Relax, hike, swim, read, shop, and attend weekly local traditional music sessions. Purchase lobster and crab (in season) at the local wharf less than 5 km away.
Saunter next-door to the Clucking Hen Café and Bakery, then to Glass Artisans who offer daily glassblowing demos or across the street to Woodsmiths Studios for fine working crafts. There are many other shops, restaurants, rivers and beaches within 15 km of our home. A 35-45 minute drive in either direction will take you to the quaint village of Baddeck or to the picturesque landscapes of the Highlands National Park in Ingonish. Our island is known as a hikers paradise. A perfect retreat to slow you down and get away from it all!
Exclusive to this home only, hire local Gaelic speaker and cultural interpreter for a 1-2 hour traditional céilidh. You will learn about chain migration of the Gaels to Cape Breton, local lore, Gaelic words and phrases and even a Gaelic song.
Children welcome. No pets allowed. Non smoking only.
