For outdoor fun, Dennis is the terminus of the Cape Cod Rail Trail, accessible from the house using bikes, making a trip all the way to Provincetown and the National Seashore by bike possible. (An extension to Hyannis and eventually Woods Hole is under construction. The Hyannis section may be open by late summer, 2017.) There are numerous kayak launch sites in the area providing access to Bass River, Swan Pond River, Herring River in Harwich, plus dozens more all over the Cape to access other waterways. Freedom Boat Club has several club locations for members close by to access both Nantucket Sound and Cape Cod Bay and there are several public boat and jet ski rental locations in the area.
Owner provides kitchen linens, mattress covers, pillows and blankets. Renters will provide sheets and their personal bath and beach towels. Local linen rental service info can be provided if desired. Renter will deal with them directly if you wish to use them. There are a few light-weight beach chairs, but renters may want to provide their own if they have a favorite style.
All of Cape Cod from Provincetown to Woods Hole is accessible via public transportation (CCRTA busses) available in Dennisport village center. Enjoy a 3/4 mile walk to the village center and find shops with arts and antiques a specialty, larger stores and reasonably-priced family-oriented restaurants. One of the Cape’s most famous ice cream shops is a 1/2 mile walk. Dennisport is equi-distant from Hyannis (Cape Cod’s largest business district) and quaint, scenic Chatham.
This house has deeded rights to a private beach reserved for the 10 houses on the circle. Note: Access is by stairs on the seawall. It is not wheelchair accessible. Several public town beaches are level with parking lots and are accessible. There is a charge to park at those even for residents. With advance notice, a weekly permit can be provided at cost for access to all Dennis public beaches.
Check in is at 3:00 p.m. No early check-ins as the property is being cleaned and checked for health code requirements. Check out is at 10:00 a.m. To be considerate of everyone, no pets, no smoking.
