Completely renovated and tastefully furnished lake cottage. The cottage has undergone a complete renovation with hard wood floors, central air, electric heat, new cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, a ceramic tile shower and back splash and a wood stove. The cottage has one bedroom with a queen and one bedroom with a twin. The couch is a sleeper and can also host guests. The cottage is completely furnished including all the kitchen necessities, sheets and towels - just bring your clothes! A washer and dryer is provided for your convenience. The cottage is heated by electricity and wood stove and has central air. There is a TV with ROKU and internet is provided. On the deck there a patio set that seats 8 and a picnic table in the yard that seats 6. There is a big yard for yard games and there's also an out side fire pit to roast marshmallows.
The cottage is located across the street from the lake, a two minute walk from a small, private beach. At the beach, a canoe is available exclusively for your use, or bring beach chairs to lounge, floats to swim, or poles to fish. Amston Lake is a beautiful 188 acre spring fed lake. The water is crystal clear because gas motors are not allowed. The lake is surrounded by undeveloped woodlands and there is a tranquil atmosphere about the area. There are also two larger beaches on the other side of the lake - a canoe, run/hike, bike or drive away. Remember to bring your fishing poles and bikes! Often, people congregate at these larger beaches to picnic, play volley ball or yard games, or to fish. During the winter time, people ice fish and play hockey on the lake.
Lake Amston is located half in Hebron and half in Lebanon with the larger town of Colchester nearby. While off the lake, enjoy cute coffee shops, a library, and many great restaurants right here in town or travel to explore the area. Within a mile of the lake is the Air-Line Trail State park with a 50-mile hiking and biking path that follows the old railway - great in the winter and summer. Nearby activities include Mystic Seaport and Museum, The Submarine Force Museum, The Dinosaur Place (experience an outdoor adventure of prehistoric proportions), The Goodspeed Opera House on the Connecticut river, quaint riverside towns, more fine dining, antiquing, farms, historical sites and state parks are within a half hour driving time or less.
