Everyone loves the Georgian Bay waterfront. With beaches that stretch for miles and warm, sparkling blue waters, it's no wonder that Georgian Bay is on UNESCO's list of world biosphere reserves. Woodland Beach is one of many beaches that dot the east coast of southern Georgian Bay. CLRM is pleased to be able to offer another cottage in this area for you to enjoy.
Oasis is comprised of two cottages on the same property - an upper, modern refurbished cottage; with all the comforts and superb amenities, and a lower cottage; a more traditional beach house with a rustic feel. Note that currently, however, the smaller lower cottage is in need of interior renovation and is NOT CURRENTLY INCLUDED in this rental (nor is it occupied during your stay).
In the main cottage, the layout is open and spacious. A back split, the upper level contains the 4 bedrooms and the main bath. You will enjoy comfortable sleeping here, with spacious rooms and sconce lighting for bookworms who enjoy a late night read. Two of the bedrooms enjoy deck walkouts with views of the yard and waterfront. If you are arranging the rental for your group, make sure you lay claim to one of these.
The main level consists of the kitchen, living room and dining area, in an open-concept environment. There is also a 2-piece powder room on this level. And while we think you'll spend a lot of time at/on/in the water, we know that your group will enjoy the living area for entertainment, be it cable TV, internet access, games or just a good book. The non-water side of the cottage has another deck with shaded table and BBQ, and there is a firebowl here for evening fires should you not wish to venture down to the waterfront fire area.
A short walk, if you like, takes you to the public beach area at Woodland Beach, complete with a boardwalk and picnic area. There is also a variety store and small ice cream shop (at least once...it IS your vacation). A short drive can take you to the beaches and entertainment attractions at Wasaga Beach, or to the amenities and history offered in Midland-Penetanguishene.
When we visited the cottage, we noticed a couple down by the large boulder which has sat for centuries at the waterfront and is widely known as "King's Rock". As we struck up a conversation I learned that they were returning to the spot where they were engaged, and were now celebrating 47 years of marriage. Their story was wonderful...are you ready to write your own?+ More
