Our off-grid cottage sits atop a 75-foot cliff of Canadian Shield overlooking a very private lake surrounded by rolling hills of Maples and Evergreens.
The cottage is masterfully decked out with unique vintage and antique finds along with original art by Canadian artists.
The entire property is 28 acres and is surrounded by hundreds of acres of Crown land. The area is ideal for hikes of all levels and is also ideal for ATV-ing and snowmobiling should you choose to do so.
Our cottage is completely off-grid which means no electricity.
The lights, stove and fridge are fueled by propane. Hot and cold water are from rain collection and the wood burning stove will provide you with heat and ambiance.
We live on the property so we usually around to answer any questions you may have or show you around. We will provide you with walkie-talkies to contact us with.
Should you need cell service, a 2 minute drive up the road will restore full bars.
Wifi is not available at your cottage but the office has WIFI on the deck and there is an outlet you may use as well.
Down by the water, we have cleared a picnic area with a walk-out dock that is perfect to take in the sounds of the water.
Should you decide to swim, there is a large floating dock set up in the deepest part of the lake a short distance off the shore.
Behind the cottage, we have a fire pit set up with benches and a picnic table to enjoy. We ask that all fires are never left unattended.
Smoking in prohibited in the cottage. Please dispose of your butts responsibly outside.
Dogs are permitted during your stay. Please keep them on leash if you are coming down to the office as we have two dogs as well. We do offer kenneling if you need. Please inquire with us about availability and rates.
Seasonal rentals are available as well: inflatable swans, lawn games, ATVs (with helmets), canoe, kayak.
We are minutes from the charming artistic community of Maynooth. Here, you can have a lovely lunch, find some great antiques and take a gander through local galleries.
Should you want to travel a bit, you have the choice of either going north to Barry's Bay or south to Bancroft. Both are approximately 20 minutes away and have large Grocery stores, gas stations and Tim Horton's (if that's your jam).+ More
