A stay at OntarioCottageRentals.com’s Lakeside Cottage is in many ways like staying in your very own ‘mini’ family vacation compound. In addition to the recently renovated four-bedroom main cottage, rental of this lovely property on Bass Lake near Foot’s Bay and Port Carling also includes a bunkie connected by a large deck.
The cedar-lined main cottage itself comes with three good-sized bedrooms. The two bedrooms on the upper level each come with full-size queen beds, one of them equipped with a wonderful walkout balcony overlooking Bass Lake. The third bedroom on the lower level includes a double bed, along with a comfortable couch and sliding doors allowing access to the deck area. Other main cottage highlights include a gas fireplace, a fully screened Muskoka room, satellite TV and DVD player, and a four-piece bathroom with a large bathtub and separate shower.
It’s in the bunkie you’ll find the lovely large master suite with its king-size bed, mini fridge and small kitchenette area, including a toaster and microwave. Other bunkie features are a loft with a single mattress (perfect for older kids!), and a summer-only two-piece bathroom in the master suite.
The large deck connecting both buildings offers plenty of patio furniture for lounging, sunbathing and enjoyment of the great views, as well as a propane barbecue. From here it’s an easy walk down to the waterfront with three docks and excellent swimming (it’s especially good off the main dock with its depths of up to five feet). A canoe and paddleboat are provided, while for those looking to explore Muskoka’s larger lakes, the Lake Joseph boat launch is located directly across Highway 169.
Winters at Lakeside are always fun thanks to the cottage’s cozy feel and the nearby snowmobile trail networks, as well as activities such as ice fishing and cross-country skiing.
This cottage has one king size bed, two queen size beds and one double bed.
Swimming is excellent off the dock, where the water is four to 5ft deep. There is also a shallow entrance to the lake with a solid sand bottom, great for children. Winter Activities: snowmobiling, ice fishing, downhill skiing (40mins to Moonstone), cross-country skiing. For a lovely after-ski dinner, the popular Bass Lake Restaurant is only a five minute walk or a two minute drive from the cottage - they're known for great food and atmosphere.+ More
