Located a short drive from Powassan on peaceful Wolfe Lake – and just three and a half hours north of Toronto – Windover Point Cottage from Ontario Cottage Rentals is great for groups of up to four adults or families with older children.
Perched overlooking the lake amidst tall pine, the gentle breezes and its elevation means bugs are never a problem. The waterfront stretches 600 feet, ensuring plenty of privacy while relaxing by the water or swimming off the gently sloping shore or dock. Other outside fun includes swimming at the nearby sandy beach, sunbathing on the secluded point, and fishing for pickerel and bass in the neighboring spawning creek. A stay shouldn’t pass by without taking the supplied canoe across to Wolfe Lake Island, a great spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of this nature-lovers paradise.
The impeccably clean and extremely cozy cottage offers two bedrooms and sleeps up to four guests, the master with a queen-sized bed and the second with two doubles. A four-piece bathroom separates the two bedrooms, and is accessible from the living room (the cottage also has a Muskoka room). The kitchen, fully equipped with everything needed to make those unforgettable cottage meals (including easy access to a BBQ), is adjacent a dining area that offers gorgeous views over the lake.
After dinner, guests will want to head down to the lakeside fire pit (firewood provided), or hang out in the screened in porch or on the elevated sundeck to enjoy those spectacular sunsets over the lake.
For those looking to explore the area, Windover Point Cottage is close to the town of Nipissing with its historical museum, while North Bay, 30 minutes by car, is a bustling summer destination for tourists due to its lakefront parks, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
