Property Description

Dragonfly Cottage combines the charm of yesteryear with the amenities and conveniences of today, in a fabulous setting on Peninsula Lake only ten minutes from the town of Huntsville. The cottage is full of character, while at the same time care has been taken to provide all that is needed for a comfortable stay. A few stone steps lead from the driveway and parking area to a cozy, stone patio area at the entrance to the cottage. Here, chairs and a table offer a seating area to catch the southern sun and a gas barbeque is provided. One side of the yard is edged with a small creek that babbles its way to the lake. Lovely, twig lawn furniture faces the water, and nearby a fire-pit close to the lake will become another favourite spot. A second building on the property was once a boathouse. Now it is furnished as a large and interesting sixth bedroom, with screened windows and a view of the lake.

Location Description

Grass leads down from cottage to water, where there are some stones to stabilize the shore. Entry is shallow with soft, sandy bottom. Long, large dock extends out to where the water is about 4-5ft deep. Peninsula Lake is part of a 40-mile chain of lakes with access to Huntsville and Port Sydney. The southern shore of Peninsula Lake, where Dragonfly is located, is part of an historic trail. Nearby: golf, fine dining, shops, Pioneer Village, live theatre, Algonquin Prov Park, Arrowhead Prov Park.

- Check-in is after 4:00 pm and Check-out is at 10:00 am. Early check-in / late check-out need to be planned well in advance to coordinate with cleaners. Otherwise, the cleaning crew will be showing up promptly at 10:00 am on the morning of your departure. - Visitors and extra guests are only permitted in the house with expressed approval given by the OCR. - Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the house or anywhere on the property - Any type of functions or parties are not permitted. - Guests will be responsible for loss or damage to the property or contents caused by them. - The WiFi can only be used for lawful purposes e.g. no unauthorized downloading or streaming of movies or music (Netflix, You tube, etc. are fine). No pets are authorized on the property unless approved by Ontario Cottage rentals.
