Island View House is an architect designed lake-front home on Lake Cecebe that is loaded with amenities. The house faces south east providing a long view down the lake between Gordon and Watson Islands. Pine doors and accents throughout the house add to the lake charm. The large deck of Island View House is a great place to sunbathe, relax, eat outside, or BBQ. Island View House can comfortably accommodate up to seven (7) guests. (An eighth guest can be accommodated with permission of the owners and an extra charge.)

Island View House has six skylights, ample windows and the open living room/dining room/kitchen design give the home a light open feeling as well as privacy. An attached pine paneled porch has both screens and vinyl panel windows to provide an added view of the lake and another dining area, or place to play games in the evening.

Forty miles of navigable waterways stretch from Island View House dock, making it a great base for boating and fishing. Lake Cecebe which contains Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and Small Mouth Bass.

The paddle to the village of Magnetawan is about 45 minutes down the river. Magnetawan has two restaurants, gift shops, a general store, two places to get ice cream, churches, a hardware store, a Saturday Farmers' Market and an LCBO. In addition there are historic locks that are operational during the summer and allow boats to go to and from Ahmic Lake.

Potential guests will be asked to fill out and return a Rental Application form, similar to those required by most cottage rental firms. Information on the form will be used for screening purposes and will be kept private.

Bedroom Description

Island View House has two formal bedrooms (one with a Queen bed and one with two Twins) plus a study with a Queen sofa bed and a large private loft with a Queen sofa bed. Two (2) powder rooms and two (2) full bathrooms make sure there is never a line up. A Jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom provides extra relaxation, and the main floor master bath has a walk-in shower.

Location Description

The path to the shore has a gentle slope and there are wooden Muskoka chairs for use on the private dock.

Many evenings loons treat guests to a chorus of calls, sometimes fish can be seen jumping in the lake, and most nights the sunsets and stars are beautiful from the dock.

Forty miles of navigable waterways stretch from the Island View House dock, making it a great base for boating and fishing. There are always fishermen on Lake Cecebe which contains Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and Small Mouth Bass.

There are nearby golf courses, good shopping of all sorts in Huntsville, a larger grocery store and gift shops in Burk's Falls, and Canada Post offices in both Magnetawan and Burk's Falls.

Both the deck and dock are ideal for sun bathing, watching the world go by, a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine or beer. There is a private double dock, 28' by 8' and 20' by 10', that is stable and has a ladder that allows easy access to the lake for swimming.

Additional Information

There is a noise restriction after 10 PM each night. There is a “no smoking” policy inside and outside of Island View House. Sub-letting of the cottage property is not permitted. The maximum number of persons of any age allowed overnight in Island View House is seven (7) an eighth guest will be considered. Owners must be notified well in advance of the occupancy period and must approve any change, if the number of occupants will differ from the number indicated on the Rental Application form. Camping, tenting or other additional accommodation facilities will not be allowed unless previous written permission has been granted by the Owners. Please note that ANY person, REGARDLESS of age is counted as a person in the occupancy of the cottage. - A small number of day guests may be approved by the Owners, but only with advance notice. Any pets occupying Island View House must be 100% house trained, friendly and good with strangers and must be cleared in advance with the Owners. Renters must clean up all droppings from pets and dispose of the droppings in the rubbish/garbage bin provided. The Renters agree that the dog(s) will NOT be left alone inside or outside Island View House. If Renters pet(s) does not come reliably when called, the pet must remain on a leash at all times when outside The Renter(s) are expected to leave the cottage in the same condition that it was in upon their arrival, and are responsible for the cleaning of the cottage before they leave and for putting their own garbage and pet waste in the outside garbage bin. Cleaning supplies and a cleaning check list are provided. Any additional cleaning required, any breakage or damage above and beyond normal “wear and tear” will result in additional charges to the Renters. Linens and towels are not provided, but can be provided by the owners for $60 per week. Check in no earlier than 2 PM. Check out no later than 11 AM.

Additional Rates & Fees Description

The best Fall colors are usually between September 14th and 25th. Most years the colors are the lake are quite spectacular

**If you see a part week on the availability calendar please ask. -- We will consider stays with a minimum of 4 nights in June and September.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 for each week is required to confirm all bookings. The remainder of the rental fee must be paid 30 days before the start of the rental period. If the cottage is booked less than 30 days in advance the entire rental fee is due at the time of booking.

Check-in is no earlier than 2 PM on Saturday and check-out is no later than 11 AM on Saturday.

**We can provide sheets, pillow cases, and towels for an extra $60 per week or part week.

A well behaved dog is allowed with permission. A dog cannot be left alone uncrated and must not be allowed to bark excessively or to wander off the property. You must also clean up after your dog.

You are expected to leave Island View House as clean as you found it. If the house is left clean and there is no damage the $400 cleaning/damage deposit cheque will be return/shredded.

Additional Amenity Description

Island View House is fully air conditioned, the main floor laundry room has a full size washer and dryer, and the wood burning fireplace in the living room adds evening relaxation. A 40 in. HD TV (satellite connection) and DVD player are also included. Bring your own Bell or Rogers stick or hub, or a Blackberry, etc. for internet connections. There is good cell phone reception, and Smartphone Internet connection. A Foosball table in the loft area appeals to kids of all ages.
