Newly renovated, cedar shake cottage with 1600 square feet of space, three bedrooms, and a crowsnest that provides a 360 degree view. Located across the road from Little Tub Harbour, within walking distance to the beautiful town of Tobermory. This cottage is one of the original fishermans houses that have lined the harbour since the late 1800's. It has been completely restored and outfitted with hardwood flooring and cedar tongue and groove panelling throughout the main living area. This living area is an open space with plenty of windows facing the water. There is ample seating provided with a couch and three wing back chairs. In this area you can relax and enjoy the flat screen television and DVD player, perfect on a rainy day. At the other end of this room is the dining table with seating for everyone in your party. Patio doors lead from here to the wrap around porch with propane bbq, very convenient for outdoor dining. Through the dining area you will reach the kitchen at the cottage. Complete with all the necessities including fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave, this modern kitchen is laid out to make your cottage cooking nice and convenient. The large windows create a bright space, and the breakfast bar creates more room at the cottage, as well as a great place to keep the chef in your family company. Two of the three bedrooms at this cottage are on the main living level, and are both spacious rooms. The master bedroom has windows on the waterside of the cottage, as well as a queen bed and three piece ensuite with shower. Bedroom two has a queen bed. The third bedroom at the cottage is located on the second storey, and is the perfect room for the children in your party. A single(twin) bed and a queen are in this room, as well as a small table and chairs by the window with a water view. This is a great place to enjoy cards and puzzles and some space of their own. There is a two piece ensuite bathroom conviently located on this floor as well. A set of stairs leads from this room up to the crowsnest of the cottage. This crowsnest or "Widow's Watch" provides a 360 degree view of the beauty that Tobermory has to offer. There are a few chairs and a table up here, and you relax and take in the view of Georgian Bay, or watch the ChiCheemaun as it comes into the harbour. The stairs that lead up to this crowsnest are steep, so small children should be supervised. A deck at the front of the cottage is a great place to relax in Muskoka chairs and watch the children playing in the large yard at the cottage. The destinctive feature of this cottage is it's close proximity to the town of Tobermory as well as the access to the water. Just across the one way street is a boardwalk that runs along the shore. You can follow this boardwalk about 60 feet to a platform that allows access to the shoreline for swimming, snorkelling or watching the sunset. Water is accessible for swimming right across the road from the cottage. The cottage is located a short walk from the village of Tobermory where you can take in all of it's little shops, boat cruises over the many shipwrecks, pubs, restaurants, and the many ice cream shops.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream. A 10 minute drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Amphitheater programs are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative and entertaining.

Location Description

Access to the shoreline is across the road. You will find a boardwalk here, take the boardwalk for 60 feet and stairs will take you down to the shoreline. A nice sand beach at Dunks Bay is located 1 km from the cottage. Singing Sands is also 10 km away.
