Situated on a point on a large lot, the cottage offers privacy and seclusion. No neighbours are visible. The far side of the lake is completely uninhabited.. The lake itself is wonderful for swimming - either off the dock or the flat rocks, boating and fishing. 700 feet flat rock shoreline. There is also a sand beach located at the end of the lake. Boat Launch nearby on lake. Large separate bright pine paneled "sunroom" overlooking the lake. Yes, we have hot and cold running water, and a basic bathroom cum utility room with sink, toilet and shower. And yes the kitchen has all the appliances except a dishwasher. A wood stove provides all the warm comfort necessary for the cooler shoulder seasons. However, we have resisted the trend to bring in TV, internet, etc in order to preserve the serenity of the property and allow our guests to reconnect with the natural surroundings. Windmill Point is approximately a 1/2 hour drive from the eastern entrance to Algonquin Park. The Park has a wide range of walking and hiking possibilities, an outdoor Logging Museum, and Visitors Interpretive Centre and Gallery, all worth a visit. The wolf howling experience, which is held on selected evenings generally in August, is not to be missed. Every season has its special attractions - not least of all autumn. The autumn period with its spectacular colours, and cool, crisp clear days is a particularly good time to experience MacKenzie Lake and Windmill Point Cottage.
