Property Description

Overlooking a glorious white sand beach with fantastic views out to sea, this historic home is casual and bright. The rural community of Lockeport offers all the essentials and is just a stroll down the beach away. Peace, beauty, and comfort: sheer bliss! The house is perfectly situated: above the beach for wonderful views, set back from the neighbours for privacy, and walking distance into town. Discover how relaxing life can be when you are surrounded by nature, lulled by the constant rhythm of the surf and caressed by the ocean breezes. You'll notice the scents wafting from the wild roses that abound and the incredible freshness of the air. There are two main guest rooms: the master bedroom with king size waterbed on the 2nd floor, and the single guest room on the main floor. There is also a single bed with chest of drawers and closet in the studio/office/laundry room on the 2nd floor. This room also offers a full size desk, a drafting table, an easel and a small selection of artist supplies: Ideal components for writers or artists looking for a getaway. The kitchen is well equipped, linens and towels are provided and wireless high speed internet is accessible throughout the house. There is a TV/DVD player and a selection of movies and CD for guest use. The summer rental week runs from Saturday to Saturday. June 30th to September 1st 2018 is high season with a minimum rental of one week. Otherwise the minimum stay is three nights. Check in time is 5 p.m.; check out time is 11 a.m. The rental includes private use of the two main floors of the house (the third floor attic is reserved for private storage and is off limits).
Despite its small size, the town of Lockeport has a restaurant (during the summer), a pharmacy, a bank (but no ATM), a grocery store/butcher shop (which does have an ATM), a liquor store, and a gas station. Lockeport events include the annual Lobster Festival in early June, Harmony Bazaar in July, and the Sea Derby in early August. The town of nearby Shelburne is less than 25 minutes away and hosts Founders Days in mid July, the Kayak Festival in mid August, and the Whirligig & Weathervane Festival in September.

While maximum occupancy is four persons there is a cot available which is suitable for a child or small adult. It is located in the ground floor reading room. There is an extra charge of $20 per night.
