Tired of vacations where you spend more time in the car than you do on the beach? Come stay at Gateway Villa 794. Not only are the pristine white sands of Fort Myers Beach and the serene Gulf of Mexico at your doorstep, but you’re also just a short walk from the restaurants, shops, and nightlife of the island’s Times Square area.
A corner unit, located on the 7th floor, the 2-bedroom condo has 2 screened-in balconies overlooking the beach and the gulf. Being a corner unit lets lots of natural light in from the South wall windows, not found in interior units! You’ll have a front-row seat to the glorious sunsets over the sparkling waters, and any time of day you have a good chance of seeing dolphins and manatees play among the boats and pelicans dive-bomb for fish. Revel in the salt-scented breeze as you linger over your morning coffee, or savor dinner while birds soar and swoop through the endless skies. The condo itself is sunny, cheerful, and airy.
The tiled floors of the living/dining area will feel fantastic underfoot when you return from a day spent gathering shells on the beach or walking the trails of nearby Bowditch Point Regional Park, a prime spot for bird watching. Kick back and catch a movie on the HDTV, curl up in a chair to follow up on emails (Gateway Villa 794 has free wifi), or stretch out on the couch for a well-deserved nap.
When you’re not exploring the multitude of restaurants or dining on the balcony, you can enjoy your meals at the cozy dining table or the breakfast counter that separates the kitchen from the living/dining area. The open floor plan lets you keep an eye on the kids playing in the living room or keep up with the dining table conversation while you cook. And whether you’re preparing a holiday feast or simply microwaving popcorn for a family movie night, the kitchen has everything you need: appliances, cookware, prep tools, and tableware. There’s even a dishwasher because when the beach is your backyard, you don’t want to waste time scrubbing plates.
The carefree casual vibe of the living area carries on into the bedrooms. We’re not sure what we love most about the master bedroom: The two double beds and TV or the doors that open onto a private lanai. Nothing’s more romantic than enjoying a drink under the stars with that special someone before turning in for the night!
The 2nd bedroom, with 2 twin beds, is perfect for the kids. Like the master bedroom, it has plenty of storage, lots of room to spread out, and its own TV. With a full bathroom for each bedroom, mornings will be stress-free: no lines to use the shower! Plenty of fresh towels will be waiting for you, as will bedding, pillows, and blankets. Keep your linens at home where they belong! Be sure to pack your swimsuits, though: Gateway Villa has a large heated pool overlooking the gulf. After your swim, dry off on one of the poolside chaises. There is a washer and dryer in the condo so you can refresh your clothes and towels throughout the week.
The condo also has a shaded outdoor dining area complete with barbecues where you can grill the trout or snapper you reeled in earlier that day—or the Gulf shrimp and burgers you bought at the nearby supermarket! And of course, there’s the beach itself. The American Sand Sculpting Championship is held here every year, and once you step onto the velvety sands you’ll know why.
The serene waters of the gulf, meanwhile, are perfect for paddle boarding, parasailing, jet skiing, or simply splashing about. Should you want to explore the southern portion of Fort Myers Beach, you can hop on one of the frequent trolleys that run the length of the island. Or venture even farther afield and take a casino cruise or a boat ride to Sanibel Island.
One thing’s for sure: When you stay at Gateway Villa 794, you can relax as much as you want, but you’ll never be bored. So what are you waiting for? Book your stay today!+ More
