The house itself, built mostly by Firefighters in 1972 (a brotherhood of master electricians, roofers and other craftsmen). Owner and District Fire Chief for the City of Miami, T.S. Houston, which overseen the construction of the home at the time. After Hurricane Andrew, the house was rebuilt and enhanced by Bob Houston, his son, which continues to keep the property in the family name. The original home was aprox. 5,400sg ft., then divided and made into a duplex. Six bedrooms, five bath. The owners Bob & Denise Houston live adjacent to the guest house.
