Property Description

Find renewal all together at remote & comfortable Northpoint Camp overlooking a clean clear lake at the headwaters of the Adirondack watershed. Here, in seclusion and silence, the magnificence of nature waltzes in daytime sun and tiptoes in the brilliant starlight of the night sky. The Main House has bedroom configuration for maximum of 10 persons. Lean-to Island is your gateway to a vast range of wilderness relaxation opportunities - follow the marked path in the back of the Main House & cross the footbridge.

If you are to connect more with anything this season, let it be Nature. Within her gentle strength, learn to clear life’s path gently and effortlessly. The living forest works overtime here beneath the mountain. It will not only allow you to make deeper contact with yourself but others as well and can fuel renewed purpose at any age.

Swim in clear mountain lake water from your private Island dock; it's deep enough to dive. We provide canoes to launch from here or bring your own paddling boats.

. :: RIGHT FROM LEAN-TO ISLAND:: You can paddle the 'Seven Carries' to vast & wild St. Regis Pond & be back to the Main House deck for a cook-out as you enjoy the sun setting behind St. Regis Mountain :: Pack a picnic & paddle through 3 Lakes and a River right from camp - no car-topping of boats :: Love life as you enjoy the hot mineral bath that awaits in a 6' indoor tub :: Sun, swim and cook-out at Lean-to Island :: Refreshments on deck praising the beauty of antique boats cruising by :: Read a book by the fire - bring your own or find one onsite :: Moonlight paddle on clear water sprinkled with stars :: Campfire songs and s'mores :: Calling loons at dawn and dusk.

LIVING AREA: With floor-to-ceiling A-frame windows (see photo) and promontory location at the northern head waters of Upper St. Regis Lake, you experience a wilderness retreat, indoors as well as out, right beneath the many moods of one of the Adirondack High Peaks, St. Regis Mountain. Relax in front of the stone fireplace after a day outdoors (some wood provided); purchase outdoor wood w/CampCredits or buy your own bundles roadside before arrival. The deck w/chairs, table/umbrella and grill (fuel incl) is just out the kitchen door for beautiful sunset suppers. The rustic wood floors have antique Nepalese carpets in every room.

KITCHEN: This is an updated galley kitchen with dishwasher/soap & dish soap, new 4-burner electric stove/oven and med-sized refrigerator/freezer. Guests use own coolers for fridge overflow; limited storage in fridge/freezer in Boathouse. There's two coffee-makers w/filters, a 4-slot toaster, the popular family crock pot, blender, lg. covered soup kettle, griddle; large and small cookware; baking pans. muffin tins, cookie sheets plus glassware, cutlery & dinnerware. All paper products: paper towels, toilet paper, wax paper, foil, plastic wrap, tissue. Basic salt/pepper begin the season and progress to unopened delicacies left by happy campers for future guests. The handmade dining table seats six comfortably with nicely appointed accessories and the fabulous view; extra dining on deck for large parties. NOTE on WATER: Ours is absolutely pure right from every tap - the most enlivening, refreshing beverage ever put to lips. Bottled water not needed! FOOD: Bring all your groceries for the week. Contact Lynn for an easy cost-effective way to pre-order & pay for food online; orders close on Mon. for delivery by your Sunday arrival. FREE membership: Value added: food waiting for you in Northpoint's kitchen!

LOFT: The ceiling is high enough for a cozy loft that overlooks the LR fireplace below and has a divine view of St. Regis Mtn. Find up here two small rooms that use the downstairs bath. There's a Queen bed out on a traditional Adirondack Sleeping Porch; the other has a panoramic view & can be used as a lounge area with another Double bed . There is electric heat downstairs and super efficient propane hot water on demand throughout.

FAMILY BEDROOM: The Master addition has an outside entrance with a King bed and a Queen pull-out couch making it a Family Suite if required. The new stackable washer/dryer is in the bathroom with shower, sink and commode opens through to the TWIN-BEDDED ROOM right off the open-concept, high, exposed-beam living area. Here the First Aid Kit is accessible mounted on the wall of a tall built-in cupboard.

MAIN BATH: The 'spa' bathroom has an antique claw-foot soaking tub - no jets but a full 6 ft. of heat-holding cast iron - with the ultimate luxury of unlimited hot water that is clean, pure and made therapeutic by a selection of aromatherapy bath additions provided for your indulgence. This bath has also a sink and commode; it is central in the house and is the primary facility for the loft doubles and is one of two toilet options for the Twin room.

COMMUNICATION: We have intermittent 4G Verizon phone reception at several places around camp and, for your online needs, wifi in our 'internet cafe' outdoors mid-camp and also in the Lakeside Bungalow which requires an ethernet cable .

CAMPFIRES: Care and common sense apply with all fire in the forest. At the outside entrance to the Family Suite is a garden hose with nozzle; it is permanently on for guest use as needed. Smoking is permitted outside only. Ashtrays are provided for the deck. MOST IMPORTANT: Campfires on the house promontory point and on Lean-to Island must be kept small & personally attended at all times as well as doused out completely on departure. Keep the onsite water container by the firepit at the island and the hose close to the fire ring off the house main deck.

LEAN-TO ISLAND: The canoes/kayaks are kept here - there's a sign to remind you to pull them onto shore . This secluded dock gets sunlight most of the day, water is deep enough for diving. The open campfire - rare in the Adks - is here in front of an authentic Lean-to for camp outs. Be sure to carry a flashlight if out after dark - the hike across the bridge and up to the Main House is dark and narrow. There find a Queen mattress enclosed in mosquito netting, a charcoal grill and outdoor cooking implements. Guests are provided an extensive reference book on arrival to begin this memorable vacation at the edge of 6 million acres of Adirondack State Park. We welcome adult groups and families for a unique and timeless experience.

OPTIONS: Lakeside Mission-style stone bungalow with deck, gas fireplace, Queen bed, sm. fridge, coffee maker, sink, toilet.
