Property Description

Welcome Home!

Fantastic wooden house with high quality equipment directly on the lake in central Lake of Nova Scotia! New building 2018! Functional, high-quality equipment. More photos will be online soon.

There are many holiday properties in the world, but if you're looking for something special, the Dean Lake Chalet in Canada is the right address.

With attention to detail very high quality furnished, directly at a lake area and of its construction certainly for the enjoyment. The holiday can start right at the house.

The Dean Lake Chalet in the Southwest country style is convincing above all by high functionality and well thought-out room layout. The complete equipment is at a high level (among other things, Washing machine and dryer, TV with DVD player, microwave, dishwasher, Weber grill, canoe, kayak etc.).

The house has a total of two bedrooms and another room which can be used as a library or bedroom. In addition, there is a living room in the chalet and a large terrace outside. In the cozy, open living-dining-kitchen area on the ground floor is a wood-burning stove for the colder seasons. A highlight is certainly the large terrace, which runs the house on two sides. From the house you have direct access to the terrace and a panoramic lake view. The sunsets are unforgettable.

The construction of the chalet was designed to be sustainable and many building materials were used directly from the property, such as the natural stone wall behind the stove with stones created by the plot or the outside facade and the wooden element inside are made of wood of the trees, like to create the driveway had to be.

A sun deck is located directly on the water. Canoes, kayaks, charcoal grill, fishing tackle and an extensive map with lots of information and restaurant tips are available free of charge. Directly from the house you can start with many activities.

The chalet stands on a 270,000 m² natural lakefront property and has more than 2,500 meters of private shoreline. There are also seven private islands.

From the Halifax International Airport (which from April to October is flown with Condor directly from Germany), it is about two hours to Dean Lake Chalet. Before you pass Bridgewater, you will find several large supermarkets and a small shopping mall. Also, within 15 minutes of the house, you can reach Caledonia, where there is a supermarket, gas station, café / restaurant, liqueur store, post office, bank, and much more. This short distance between pure nature and shopping is rather rare for Canadian conditions.

Particularly ideal is the location of Dean Lake Chalet for those who want to explore the South of Nova Scotia. So it is only about 45 minutes to the cities of Liverpool and Bridgewater on the south coast or to the Bay of Fundy. It is just under 60 minutes to the UNESCO World Heritage City "Lunenburg". Kejimkujik National Park is a 20-minute drive from Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia is at least 1.5 hours.

Dean Lake is perhaps one of the most beautiful lakes in Nova Scotia. He goes directly into the slightly larger Mc Gowan Lake, where more small islands lie. The lake gives the right Canadian feeling, because the bank is hardly built with houses: pure nature!

We recommend an extensive tour with canoe and kayak, which is available to our guests to discover the interconnected lakes. The many small islands offer the perfect place to take a break. On one of the seven private islands belonging to the property there is even a picnic bench.

No sound motorboats, jetskis or even watercrafts will happily be found here. From the sun deck and from the house you have a wonderful lake view and can enjoy the day at the water in peace. In summer, the water is warm enough to swim and in winter the lake is often frozen.

Due to the distance of about 12 km of air line to the Kejimkujik national park, the animal world and the animal kingdom is high. As the cottage is surrounded by nature, you can also discover some white-whiskers, raccoons, skunks or goats in the forest. Squirrels and squirrels come to the terrace. At the lake you can also find the well-known white-headed eagles, the Canadagans or the specially protected loons, which are among the ice dolphins and are depicted on the Canadian one-dollar coin.

Directly from the house you can start with many activities. There is much to discover on the large grounds and in the immediate vicinity.

There are almost 2 km of private paths on the property. Explore the area.

There are many fishing possibilities. However, you should first purchase a fishing license "Fishing License", eg in Caledonia.

SMALL WALKING (about 4 km)

Walk to the Medway rapids in Albany New.

A nice way around Tupper Lake. Enjoy nature. On about half of the way you will find a picnic bench and a public lake access with swimming pool. Give yourself a break before you start the rest of the way.

Explore the lake area Dean Lake and Mc Gowan Lake with kayak and canoe. A total of four lakes are connected and can be reached directly from the house.

TIP: Excursion with kayak and canoe to private island. A large, comfortable picnic table invites you to linger.

The Dean Lake invites you to swim in many places.

Make yourself at home at the house and watch the starry sky. In good weather you can even see the Milky Way.

In the winter when snow is fallen make the walks and hikes around the house especially fun. Wood for cozy evening at the Kaminfeuer is abundant.

  • Hiking can be shortened by 3 km on request. Just go by car to the driveway and use the parking there.

Possibility to explore: - Kejimkujik National Park (hiking, mountain biking, animal watching or canoeing) - Lunenburg (Unesco World Cultural Heritage, 3 hrs.- Cruising with the Bluenose II) - Shelburne (historical site) - Fundy Bay (worlds largest tidal range: 20 meters) - Digby Neck (first class observation trips) - Halifax (historic center, large wooden boardwalk, fortress, interesting museums (eg.
