It has a wonderful town library and offers endless opportunity for walking and biking. There is a stony beach in town and numerous fresh water lakes within a 30-minute drive.
Castine is best enjoyed by walking. There are historical markers throughout the town, providing visitors with a wonderful history of this town, first settled in 1613.
