Experience a serene getaway! Comfortable home in a small village in the foothills of the Catskills. The house is situated in a valley, on the Catskill Creek adjacent to Bayard Elsbree Memorial Park. It has been continuously owned by the same family since built in 1881.
Maintained and updated through the years, there has been an effort to retain the original character and integrity of the house. The wrap- around front porch is delightful for cocktails or just to sit, read and contemplate. The 1950’s vintage kitchen is spacious and equipped with all you need. Eat in the formal dining room or in the kitchen. There is a park right next door with a nice kids area and baseball diamond. The creek out back is fun for wading and catching crawfish.
4 Bedrooms; 1 1/2 bathrooms; spacious kitchen and dining room, living room, plus surrounding grounds which include a barn/garage and the original outhouse. The full bath upstairs is shared by all bedrooms and is functional but not fancy. The home is furnished with vintage and antique furniture. Mattresses have all been recently replaced as have the linens.
Internet and wifi, no television. There is a land line for local and long-distance (we will charge for long-distance calls) as cell phone reception can be spotty.
Like most homes of the period, the house was built on the main street which is a two- lane country Hwy. 145, so there is some traffic noise day and night. Ample Parking.
Located 3 hours from New York City; 20 miles north of the Catskill Mountains; 30 miles from Catskill and Hudson - 40 minutes from downtown Albany; 75 minutes from Cooperstown; 90 minutes from Saratoga and Tanglewood.
