ALL WELCOME HERE. OverEasy warmly invites you to relax within its cozy walls, or simply use it as an inexpensive landing spot while you visit schools, vacation, sporting events, taste wine, and more in Berkeley, San Francisco, Napa, and beyond.

Enjoy the full kitchen, ample street parking, wi-fi, Netflix, 40" screen TV, free tea/coffee/light breakfast, and delicious memory foam mattresses in this ground floor apartment, located below a craftsman bungalow.

We welcome all races, genders, ages, and orientations.

CENTRAL LOCATION:

10 minutes' drive to UC Berkeley 1 mile from Ashby BART; train ride is 22-24 minutes from downtown 1 mile from Emeryville Amtrak SFO is 22 miles away - car depends on traffic; 55 minutes by BART

*OAK is 13 miles away; 33 minutes by BART.

OVERVIEW:

A bit scruffy on the outside, but light-filled and cozy on the inside. OverEasy is the 650 sq ft bottom unit of SunnySideUp (a 1908 craftsman bungalow). It has private entrances and a lockbox for 24 hour entry.

PARKING: Tons of street parking! No issues with finding a spot within a one block radius when coming home late at night.

BEDS: Living room - full-sized sofa bed with a new 4" memory foam sofa bed mattress.

Bedroom - delicious queen-sized memory foam mattress

Fifth person - double-high twin air mattress.

Babies - pop-up crib available

TV AND WIFI:

  • 40" flat screen TV with a Roku Streaming Stick (it has Netflix and many other channels)
  • Chromecast

  • Dish WiFi.

CEILINGS: Bedroom - low ceiling at 6.5 feet high

Kitchen - 7 feet high

Living room - 8 feet high.

STAIRS

One stair leading down into the apartment. Three steps up from the living room into the bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom.

KITCHEN:

  • granite countertops

  • gas stove with oven

  • kitchen table with leaves

  • fully equipped with dishes, drinking and wine glasses, pots, pans, knives, wine opener, serving utensils, etc.
  • also, oil, spices, some extra dried food if you're hungry

  • coffee maker (with grinder, coffee, creamers, sugar) + kettle and tea

  • hot cereals for breakfast

SOUND:

  • bottom-floor unit

  • footsteps and the sounds of a child (or children) playing from time to time. If you are noise sensitive, this is not the place for you.

  • quiet hours from 10pm - 8am

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

We are delighted to answer any questions you might have. Messaging via Airbnb tends to be the best way to reach us. Texting also works great. We live above you, so you can certainly knock on the door and say hello.

If something isn't working right for you, please let us know! We take great pride in making our guests' experience an excellent one.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Our neighborhood is friendly, racially diverse, urban, and transitional. While we've never had a break-in, use common sense and don't leave valuables in your car. There are restaurants close by, but this is not a shopping district. The closest mall area is 1.6 miles away at Baystreet in Emeryville.

Many of the homes were built either before the 1906 earthquake or after (like Sunny Side Up), so take a walk down 63rd St. and notice some of the original details (especially the block going towards San Pablo Ave).

Our local cafe Paradise Park Café is about 3 blocks from our house and serves delicious food and drink. Nearby is the infamous James & the Giant Cupcake (serving cupcakes). The Golden Gate Recreation Center is 2 blocks away and sports a new playground for kids.

Within a mile, you'll find local cuisine (Vegan Donut Farm and Tribu Cafe), Thai (Summer Summer), Asian fusion (Noodle Theory Provisions), Indian-inspired pizza (Namaste Pizza), Mexican (Chile Jalapeno), homestyle cuisine (Homegrown), Sushi (Kyo2), Ethiopian (Lemat), and the infamous McDonald's.

For adults, SF is an easy 15 -20 minute drive (with no traffic).

UC Berkeley is about a 10 minute car ride away as is Berkeley Rep/downtown Berkeley/downtown Oakland. For hiking, Tilden Park is a fifteen minute drive, and the Berkeley and Emeryville Marinas are close by.

Berkeley Bowl and Trader Joe's -- our local grocery stores -- are about 1.1 and 1.5 miles away (respectively and in different directions).

GETTING AROUND

Ashby BART is one mile from our house.

The number 72/72R buses are located approximately three blocks away on San Pablo @ Alcatraz.

The Emery-Go-Round is a free shuttle service that can take you to different locations around Emeryville as well as to MacArthur BART station. The closest stop is .6 miles away at 63rd/Hollis.

Emeryville Amtrak is exactly 1 mile away:

Some people like to use Uber and Lyft to catch a ride to public transportation while others prefer to walk.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

We have Chromecast as well as a Roku Streaming Stick for our 40" flatscreen TV. Prior to visiting, you might want to download the chrome cast app on to your device, so you can stream your own personal movies.
