Close to all San Diego fun! Very central location. Walkable neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, coffee shops and breweries. Recently refurbished, but maintaining the charming Craftsman quality, this 2 bedroom bungalow sleeps 8+, with plenty of room for additional air mattresses & sleeping bags. The master bedroom, with its own powder room, has double french doors leading out to a secluded red brick patio. It also offers a dedicated work/office space with wifi available.

The second bedroom is set for a group, with beds for 4 plus a "kid's hideaway" complete with toys and a toddler bed. It also has a separate entrance from the patio with a table and chairs to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather. Bring a wrap for cooler mornings and evenings.

The entertainment room has a comfy daybed, suitable for lounging during the day and ready to clear as a third sleeping space. There is a 42" t.v. and a game table with oodles of board games & jigsaw puzzles.

The newly replaced double paned windows throughout allow lots of glorious light and natural ventilation. The kitchen has maintained its quaint charm with original cabinets and "penny tile" counters. However, it has all the modern conveniences, including gas stove, microwave, coffeemaker, blender, etc. It is a large kitchen with a long white wooden table to seat 10 people. Perfect for family/group meals.

The gracious front room features an original Batchelder tile fireplace (non-operable) - a true art treasure. There is wall to wall built-in wooden bookcases, filled with books for your reading pleasure. Please feel free to take a paperback home.

Beautiful renewable bamboo floors flow throughout.

There is a long concrete slanted driveway, but only street parking is allowed, so all tenants have easy access to the back patio. The property has 3 units, so the patio & driveway are communal spaces. Do not park in the driveway. There is available street parking.

The house is located in the historic community of Kensington, established in 1920. It is walking distance to dozens of bars & restaurants, including Ponce's, which was established in 1946 and is still run by the original family, offering delicious, authentic Mexican food. It's a 3 block stroll to the farmer's market style grocery store, a Starbuck's and just a little further the historic Ken Cinema, still showing movie classics.

It is literally minutes from Highway 15 and Interstate 8, making it less than ten minutes to Balboa Park and the world famous San Diego Zoo. 15 minutes to downtown and the Gaslamp Quarter for a busy nightlife scene, 20 minutes to amazing southern beaches and 40 minutes to the mountains. Lots of theatre and art.

Speaking of art, the walls of this 1400 square foot house are hung with original art by award-winning California artists. Interested in purchasing something? Just inquire!

There is no alley access, which contributes to the quiet, peaceful nature of this lovely, gracious space. Following an afternoon of relaxing on the patio, guests can enjoy walking dinner in any of the multitude restaurants, only moments away. Also nearby are a library and park with a playground.
