THE SPACE

A beautiful covered front porch welcomes your arrival, especially for its perfect warm southern exposure and maximum light. The open design living area with a gas-burned fireplace is ideal for relaxation and entertaining. Two large bedrooms are on the main floor with a large full bath. Upstairs is a third bedroom with large sitting area, writing desk, children's play area with toys and books, and a 55" HDTV (a second television is on the main floor)—full cable TV service and Netflix. The shared laundry room is downstairs with another rental unit. Charcoal BBQ grill and outdoor patio table are located in the secluded quasi fenced-in backyard. Feel free to call Host any time, we do our best to assist with anything you need. We love VRBO and have used it many times on our family getaways so our rental properties are well-stocked and comfortably furnished—and we're always looking at ways to enhance your stay! We have several Green Lake vacation homes as well should you need additional lodging.

We have airbeds available for an additional flat fee ($50 twin and $70 queen with beddings), please inquire.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF MAPLE LEAF

The area around Roosevelt Avenue and 90th Street is the main business district in Maple Leaf. There, you’ll find much to keep you occupied. Walk up Cloud City Coffee for breakfast or a sandwich, and you’ll be equally likely to find some sort of community meeting taking place. Browse the kitschy store next door, Maxine’s—part florist, part gift shop. Roosevelt Ale House is a great place to stop for happy hour, or try Snappy Dragon for delicious Chinese fare. If you have kids, there are a few must-sees that your whole family will enjoy. One of the lesser-known treasures of the neighborhood is the Northwest Puppet Center, which houses a museum, a stage for plays, and holds classes for puppet enthusiasts of all ages. After you’ve exhausted all they have to offer, stop by Math ‘n’ Stuff and feast your eyes on their selection of games, puzzles, toys, and science kits. Run off some energy at the relatively new Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. The 16 acres of park land offer a viewpoint of both Mount Rainier and Lake Washington, a series of rain gardens, shelter, sports court, ball fields, and a play area boasting both a zip line and children’s garden.

MAPLE LEAF PARK & RESERVOIR

About an easy 10 minutes stroll down the street, the Maple Leaf reservoir was completed in 1910 with the purpose of creating a reservoir for residential and commercial water use. In 2009 the city began plans to move the reservoir underground. This was part of a city wide plan to replace all open reservoirs with underground structures in order to improve the quality and security of the water supply and provide new public open spaces on reservoir lids throughout Seattle. In 2013 the 16-acre park was completed.
