Within 2 miles of Yosemite National Park, the Yosemite Fox Den is a three bedroom, two and 1/2 bath cabin that accommodates up to 6 occupants. It is two stories, and downstairs you have a fully functional kitchen and living room with a stone fireplace. The house has heaters for cold nights, and on warm days simply open the back doors and let the breeze in. Our cabin is the perfect home away from home, with a large upstairs play area and a back yard patio and outdoor fireplace/BBQ for family fun. A small river runs close behind the back yard, a scenic addition to the landscape. The house is in a shaded and forested area. The winter months have excellent skiing while the summer months are wonderful for hiking and scenic views. The house has free parking for three cars. We have a television with a DVD player and DVDs provided, but we do not have Cable or WiFi services. Check in time is 3 pm and check out time is 11 pm.
Pets are welcome at Yosemite Fox Den.
There is absolutely no smoking allowed in Yosemite Fox Den. If you must smoke, you have to go outside to do it. A lingering smell of cigarette smoke in the cabin will result in your damage deposit not being refunded.
Fish Camp is a tiny, forested settlement on the border of the ultimate outdoor playground, Yosemite National Park. There are no gas stations in fish camp, so fill up in Oakhurst on your way. Fish Camp does have a small general store, but for major food shopping we highly recommend stopping in Oakhurst. Nearby, the Narrow Gauge Inn and Tenaya Lodge have restaurants. The historic Sugar Pine Railroad takes visitors on short excursions most of the year. The speed limit in the park is 25 to 30 mph, so it takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Yosemite Valley from Fish Camp. Despite the driving time in the park, Yosemite Fox Den's proximity to the South entrance allows you beat the crowds seeking Yosemite's attractions.
Our family has lived near Yosemite for 20 years and we have spent many weekends exploring trails within and around the park. At our cabin, we will have a binder featuring some of the best "hidden gem" trails about the park.
When visiting Yosemite in the winter, it is important to remember that the high elevation areas will be covered in snow, and chains are necessary for driving. Yosemite's winter attractions include the lovely Badger Pass Ski resort, which is only 20 miles from Yosemite Fox Den. There are snow play areas very close to the Fox Den as well.+ More
