This is a three bedroom, two bathroom house. At 2000 square feet, there’s plenty of space and sleeping options for you and your guests to spread out and be comfortable. All 3 bedrooms (king, queen, and full size beds in each, respectively) and a full bath are on 2nd floor. You have a view of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains from the front bedroom with the king bed. The first floor has a 3/4 bath, lots of room and an open floor plan. In the front room you can curl up on in front of the gas fireplace or use the desk to get some business done. The middle living room has lots of comfortable seating. It's a great place to socialize, listen to music or read a book. It's adjacent to the kitchen and with an open floor plan allows for conversation between the two spaces. You can watch TV in the library/media room off the dining room, it has lot's of light and a view of the garden and serves as a great place to watch the humming birds. While there are many good restaurants in the area it's a great place to cook. The kitchen is open to both living and dining room so you can cook a full meal without missing any of the conversation. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked. It has gas stove and new dishwasher and refrigerator. You can enjoy the outside in both front and back yards. The front porch is covered and has a bench. Enjoy your morning coffee, a glass of wine or meal in the back yard. It has a terrace and a private garden.
Guests have access to full first and second floor and front and back yard. Feel free to use washer and dryer in basement. I may occasionally go into the basement through the outside entrance but will not enter 1st or 2nd floor. I always text 24 hours in advance to make sure it's ok.
I travel for business so I may not meet you but always accessible by phone or text. If I'm in town I will be there to greet you when you arrive. If not there is a lock box for 24 hour access. I'm happy to help you find a great restaurant or just to answer questions like "where are the tennis rackets?" Just text or call.
I love where I live! The neighborhood is quiet and safe but convenient to everything. Volunteer Park is half a block away. There you can play tennis, visit the plant conservatory or Asian Art Museum, take the kids to play ground and more. During the summer there is a kids wading pool in the park. Volunteer Park Cafe (closed on Mondays) is 1 block away, great atmosphere with good food and coffee. A 15 min walk or 5 minute bus ride gets you to a great neighborhood shops, grocery stores and restaurants on 15th or 19th Ave E. It's just a ways further to Broadway Ave with many more shops and restaurants. Just a mile and a half south is the vibrant Capitol Hill Club and restaurant district or a little further to the west gets you downtown and Pike Place Market. The University of Washington is about 2 miles north and an easy bus ride. Downtown is a 10 minute drive or 20 minute bus ride, the bus stop is just half a block away. Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves are a short walk away in the Lake View Cemetery.
You don't need a car or even Uber to get here. Just take light rail from airport to downtown or Broadway and take bus #10. Get off at the last stop, you are half a block away. Get back on bus #10 to get downtown in 20 min. Bus to university district takes about the same time. There are quite a few good restaurants, shops and grocery stores just over half a mile away, on 19th or 15th Ave. Either direction is a pleasant walk. Broadway Ave has much more and is about a 20 min walk.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
There is a parking space for one car in alley. It's all yours. It is best to load your luggage in from this spot as the front of house has 3 set of stairs to climb. Alley and parking are level with the house. While I have a strict rule against parties it is a great place for family gatherings, business meetings or the like. If you plan on having more than 6 people in the house please let me know in advance. I'm agreeable to most anything that is respectful to my house and neighbors but I do want it worked out in advance and in writing. During the summer there is a wading pool for small children at the park just half a block away so have them bring a suit. My neighbor is very sensitive to smoke so no smoking is allowed inside or out.
