The Hilltop House is a 3-story Colonial Dutch home perched on a boulder hill overlooking the Saint-Jacques village in Madawaska River Valley (just a few km from Edmundston) in New Brunswick. It sits in privacy amongst treetops and skirted by 8 acres of grass, forest, streams, rocks, and places to be at peace. It is less than 10 minutes off the TransCanada and 10 minutes to the city center of Edmundston known as the Gateway to the Maritimes.
The newly remodeled home features a 2-story great room with living room, dining room, and gourmet kitchen and bar. There are two master bedrooms suites, one on each of the 2nd and 3rd floors. Each has a queen pillow-top bed and private bath with line-dried fresh linens. The wrap-around deck provides stunning east, south, and west views of the valley. Multi-colored sunrises, sunsets, and rainbows are a regular occurrence.
The Madawaska River Valley is a treasure trove of places to explore, activities to do, serene vistas to relax, and history to learn. There are gardens to mesmerize, cathedrals to admire, icewalls to climb, slopes to ski, lakes and rivers to fish, and people always willing to share a smile, cup of coffee, or glass of wine.
