Welcome to Oak Hill House, a peaceful retreat in the heart of Sonoma County. Our private yet conveniently located country home is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding wine country or simply relaxing with family and friends.
Hidden among the oaks on a quiet country road, our lovely, ranch-style home accommodates up to 6 adults (this is our maximum occupancy, please see below). Tastefully appointed, the house has all new furnishings, including new mattresses, bedding and linens. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and sliding glass doors opening to the yard and views of the surrounding hillsides, while two additional bedrooms share a second bathroom off the main hall. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the family room.
The spacious living and family rooms both provide plenty of seating, and each feature a cozy gas fireplace. In the kitchen, you will find updated appliances and everything you need to prepare, cook and serve your meals. The dining room table seats up to eight people, and there is also an outside dining area complete with a gas grill and another table seating eight. Last but not least is a small library / game room, with a foosball table and a variety of board games, puzzles, and books for adults and children of all ages.
The property includes a little over an acre of land, with plenty of space for the kids to run around and explore and quiet nooks for adults to relax, converse and enjoy nature. Guests will have access to the entire house and one-acre property, except for two locked closets. Guests will also have access to the garage to store bikes and other items, but will not be able to park cars inside the garage. Overnight guests may park up to three cars in the driveway.
To make life a little easier for families vacationing with young children, we can provide a Pack n' Play baby crib upon request, and also have a large selection of children's toys, games and books.
Check-in and Orientation
You will find detailed information about the house, how things work, etc., as well as information on area activities, restaurants and wineries in our Oak Hill House Information Binder, and we are only a phone call away should you wish to speak with us. In addition, our house manager will be on hand to answer questions or assist if issues arise.
Other Things to Note
Summer Climate: While our house does not have air conditioning, numerous screened windows and doors as well as bedroom ceiling fans, and a couple portable fans, provide good air flow throughout the house. In our experience, the house remains comfortable even on Sonoma County's hottest summer days.
Property Access & Parking: Our house is accessed via a fairly steep, paved driveway. At the top of the slope, the land and driveway flatten out, and there is space for three cars to park. Although cars may not be parked in our adjacent two-car garage, you may access the garage to store bikes or other items.
Outdoor Security Camera: Please note that for security purposes, we have installed a Nest camera on the outside of our garage, which monitors activity in the driveway.
Sonoma County Requirements: Please note that for rentals of 30 days or less, Sonoma County requires that we collect a 12% transient occupancy tax ("TOT"), applicable to our nightly rate as well as the cleaning fee. Oak Hill House's TOT certificate number is 2661N. As provided by the Sonoma County Code on vacation rentals, amplified sound is not permitted in outdoor areas and guests must observe quiet hours and refrain from noisy activities between 10pm and 7am.
A maximum of 6 overnight guests is allowed at our house (not including children under age 2). In the event that this rule is broken, guests will be charged an extra $200 per guest per night. A maximum of 3 cars may be parked on the property by overnight guests.+ More
