A comfortable and private little house right in the center of Woodstock. Just steps from all the activity on Tinker Street yet hidden from all the noise and bustle—most people don’t even know this contented little house exists! Yet it is an old historical house built in 1875, which has survived all these years in great condition at its current location through succession of owners who lovingly cared for it.
No car necessary! Our Peaceful Harmony Hideaway is right on the Adirondack Trailways bus line, which lets you off half a block away. There are myriad shops, a variety of restaurants, and plenty of street life just outside the gate. And if you do have a car, there is an off-street long term parking lot just a few feet away.
Literally situated just around the corner from one of the town’s most popular eateries, once you pass through the unassuming gate, you are in a private world that is all your own. The yard is completely fenced in, so you can relax in the back yard, hidden away to enjoy your own secret garden.
Upstairs, the house has one bedroom with a new comfortable queen-size bed (the other bedroom is kept for the owner’s use when house is not renting). On days when the river across the street is full, you can sleep to the sound of a water fall. The nice-size bathroom has a vintage 5-foot claw foot tub with hand-held showerhead for use while sitting in tub.
Downstairs, one of the couches is a pull-out that converts to a firm queen-size bed, so the house can actually sleep four. The kitchen is open to the dining area, and it is well stocked with cookware and utensils. The dining table will comfortably seat six.
This sweet house is attractively furnished with hardwood floors throughout house. The feel is relaxed, cozy, and private. A wonderful place for a writer—or anyone who wishes to get away—to hide out for a while. There is no pretension here, just ease and proximity to everything you need.+ More
