Joshua Tree Sage House is located less than a mile from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. The property has gorgeous views — sunsets and moonrises over the mountains. Dirt roads and no streetlights make the night skies very dark — perfect for epic star gazing.
This house is perfect for anyone wanting the serenity of the desert. It was built in the 70’s and once belonged to artist Ed Moses. It has since been modernized with landscaping, an updated kitchen and large glass sliding doors. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher and stove as well as cooking utensils, pots, pans, cooking oil, some spices, condiments, coffee and tea. We supply either Peet's or Joshua Tree Roasting Co. coffee. There is a Weber BBQ and a table in the kitchen area as well as a table in the back porch area.
Spend your days hiking or rock climbing in the park or explore the shops and restaurants of Joshua Tree (Crossroads Cafe, Natural Sisters, The Saloon, Pie for the People). Get a park pass at The Visitor Center which is good for 7 days so you can exit and return multiple times. Visit the Farmers Market in town on Saturday mornings. Shop for antiques in Old Town Yucca Valley. Check out the live music and BBQ at Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown. Or stay at home, read a book from the library or listen to our collection of vintage albums.
We love children and have a variety of games, toys and books and videos/DVDs. There is a TV for use with a DVD player and a small library of movies.
Although we love dogs, we are very cautious about allowing them on the property due to the fragile desert landscape. There are resident jack rabbits, quail, ad other animals who are out feeding during the cooler morning and evening hours. Please ask us before booking if you would like to bring your pet.
There is internet but cell phone service is spotty (AT&T being the most reliable).
We recommend stocking up on groceries and firewood in Yucca Valley, 7 miles to the west.+ More
