NEARBY CITIES

Ishpeming: Chippewa Indian translation for "on the summit".  Visit this gorgeous city that was rooted in the discovery of Iron Ore during the 1840's.  Only about 40 mins drive from the cottage.

Marquette: Known for being the UP's largest populated community.  Both Northern Michigan University and Marquette General Hospital are located in this community.  Appreciate their community's abundant natrual beauty, unique climate and high quality of life.  Also, you can experience "whale watching" Marquette style- by seeing the giant ore and coal freighters unload at the Iron Ore/Presque Isle Dock.

Copper Harbor:  Michigan's northernmost community, a truly unique community is about 2 hours North, you can take your time enjoying Baraga State Park as well as Houghton City on your way.  The port of Copper Harbor, one of the main shipping points for copper going out and supplies coming in, much of what was built back in the late 1800's is still there for you too appreciate today.

Great little place! !

Although the cabin is a bit dated, we had a great time. The cabin was clean and offered anything you could possibly need or want. The use of the pontoon boat is amazing, it really is a nice quiet lake with great fishing! ! They also allow you to bring your dog which is a huge win in our book. Would love to go back next year. The only bad thing I ca... Read More

Almost complete

Our stay at petticoat lake was good. The weather cooperated the whole time the fishing was good. A few things that we didn't like. We as a family love to swim but the swim dock wasn't put out and it had no ladder making it unusable. The row boat was also not in the water and we had to search for the oars. The furniture in the cabin is very old and... Read More
