Come enjoy our recently updated vaulted ceiling home with open kitchen concept and beautiful views, two bedrooms with queen beds, two baths, sleeps 6 (2 would be on full sized futon couch in living room). Our house is waterfront on the shores of tranquil Long Pond in Henniker. You can take in the stunning lake view from the dining area and living room through the glass french doors, which open to a huge furnished deck with spectacular sunrises. The deck, beach or waterfront stone terrace are all wonderful places to start your morning with coffee or tea or enjoy your favorite beverage later in the day.
Early in the morning you might hear the high-pitched call of a loon or two swimming or diving for fish! We also have a resident Egret and occasionally catch a glimpse of a bald eagle soaring above! There are beavers that swim by and also geese and ducks nest across the pond. We have several species of woodpeckers and other song birds to serenade you in the mornings. Join the anglers who come from all over New England to fish for pickerel and bass.
In the summer, the pond is a clean and refreshing place to swim. From the deck, you can walk down to the beach and jump right in as well as relax on a floating dock with other water toys available! There are 3 kayaks and a sit on paddle board with PFDs on hand for a small fishing expedition, a leisurely paddle, or venture by water to secluded Middle Pond for more wildlife viewing. Nearby, there is a private boat launch for your use and plenty of space on our property to park your fishing boat.
In the fall, enjoy the spectacular foliage as you hike the marked trails in the protected areas of Henniker. The deck of our home is an ideal place to relax while recharging your body, mind, and soul underneath the changing fall leaves. Experience the locally owned Intervale Farm Pancake House for breakfast at the base of Pat's Peak only three miles away.
Winter offers activities such as ice fishing, skating on the lake, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or alpine skiing at Pat’s Peak. Mt. Sunapee is also a nearby ski-mountain with trails for all levels of alpine skiers.
