Property Description

Newly Remodeled

This lovely home is a historical beauty. Built in 1890, the house has it's quirks but it won't take long for you to fall in love with it's charm and central location for many mountain adventures. Raft or fish the Arkansas River, ski at Monarch Mountain, shop historic Salida, hike the Rainbow Trail, photograph the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, zip line, ATV, visit the historic mining town of Westcliffe, climb to the top of Castle Bishop Castle, visit the Wolf Preserve.

So many options but you don't have to do any of them. You are welcome to enjoy a relaxing time with the wildlife that frequent the acre of beautiful property. Spend time in the spacious backyard making memories of precious family time. The kids will enjoy exploring in the safety of the fenced in back yard. Roast marshmallows in the evenings under the stars in the provided fire pit. Grill also provided (please provide your own propane).

The cottage has a full working kitchen with oven, microwave and full size refrigerator, relaxing living/dining room, 2 bedrooms (1 queen size bed, 1 twin, 1 twin bunkbed, and a pullout couch), and 1 bathroom. All newly remodeled.

In the Fall of 2016, Nancy Bertolino, bought the property in an effort to restore and bring life back into the home. Accompanied by her son and daughter-in-law, Tex and Paula, who manage the property, they have done just that.

You will be walking distance from the now Gold Medal Rated Arkansas River. These waters are defined as being able to produce 60 pounds of trout per acre, and at least twelve 14" or larger trout per acre. Please take advantage of our outdoor hose to clean all fish.

Raft the Class 5 rapids of the Arkansas River with two of the raft companies within 5 minutes of the cottage.

Just the right amount of rustic

We enjoyed this comfy cabin and surrounding area. Deer came to the yard every morning, the Arkansas river was just a stone's throw away. It was a great central location for all of our explores. I could see up to 7 people sleeping here comfortably. The kitchen was adequately stocked with utensils, plates, cups and cooking tools to make a decent Than... Read More

We loved it all!

We loved everything about our stay at Plum Street Cottage...the cottage, the scenery, the location, the wildlife, and the owners! We have a large family, and there was room for us all to have beds. The cottage was clean and spacious. We cooked many of our meals right in the kitchen. You can't beat the view from the valley. We enjoyed rafting, hikin... Read More

Amazing family memories

We had a magical time staying in your cottage. We enjoyed relaxing and cooking at the cottage, but it was also the perfect location to make day trips to visit Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, and go rafting with Arkansas River Tours! Thanks for creating such a charming and cozy space!

Family gathering

This house worked nicely for our family adventure in Colorado. We were comfortable. The location is perfect - accessible to route 50, but also somewhat isolated from neighbors.
