Property Description: The space is the walk-out basement area of our home One bedroom plus pull out couch. There is a full wet-bar that also serves as a mini-kitchen that includes microwave, toaster oven, hotplate, dishwasher, fridge, small sink and eating area suitable for morning meals or late night snacks. There is a BBQ on the patio area, games, gym and you have shared use of our new pool and a hot-tub just like at a hotel. Our house is located on a trail system suitable for motorized and non-motorized activities.
This space is unique because it is in the city but because it backs onto green space it feels like you are in a rural area. Yet you are a 5 minute drive to golfing, 7 minutes to shopping, 10 minutes to wineries, 15 minutes to the beach and 1:15 to world class skiing at Big White Ski Resort. The suite itself is approximately 1500sq ft.
Guest Access: Access is via the stairway on the side of the house to the sliding doors at the basement level. Guests also have access to lots of free parking, the hot tub, and a new pool in April of 2017.
Interaction With Guests: We might see you at the pool from time to time, other than that only when you need something from us like directions into the trail system for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, etc.
Other Note: As I mentioned earlier it is a walkout basement so the entrance is private in that you come and go from the basement area. I would call it a partial kitchen in that you have everything you need for small to medium meals (microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, eating area and a BBQ but it is set up behind a bar. So not quite an actual full apartment.
Neighborhood: It is a newer neighborhood with lots of young families playing ball or street hockey, riding bikes etc living the active outdoor lifestyle favored here in the Okanagan Valley.
Getting Around: I would say you would probably want a car to get around as there are many activities and they are short drives but in different directions. A public transit system is available but has a limited schedule that is typical of a small city.+ More
