Property Description

Our vacation home is unique with a large patio which wraps along the back & side of the home. Trees provide a green wall of privacy where you can sit & capture nature. We have a delightful view of the ocean. The side deck is private, facing a small cliff (from where a spectacular view of Pouch Cove is seen). Personal parking space lies adjacent to the front entrance of the house. The front entrance opens into a porch & faces 2 bifold doors. To the right, a French door leads into the kitchen. Kitchen and dining areas share an open concept with the living room. At the far end of the living room, large patio doors overlook the back patio. One can enjoy breakfast in the house, overlooking the ocean with its brilliant, glimmering, sunlight playing on its surface. For a change of venue, the patio with its small patio dining set offers a welcoming start to the day. The kitchen is well-stocked in terms of appliances (fridge, stove, counter-top dishwasher, microwave, can opener, toaster, coffee machine, slow cooker, bread maker) as well as pots, pans, dish cloths / towels, and detergents. We provide many spices, cutting board, and storage containers. The dining area is equipped with a pub sized kitchen table and 4 chairs and 2 additional high open back stools. Futon and recline sofa provide seating in living room. The room also contains a coffee / end table, fireplace on which sits a 55 inch TV, DVD player, and Wii system with a small assortment of games. For those who enjoy old-fashioned fun, we also have an assortment of board games and young children toys. Upstairs two bedrooms (master with queen bed, 47 inch TV in electric fireplace stand; other has double bed with 47 inch TV sitting on electric fireplace stand), & bathroom. All bath towels, face cloths, shampoo provided. The community is sought out for its proximity to East Coast Trail.

Murray House Vacation Home meets the high standards set by Canada Select (3 1/2 star) and us, the owners. The house has been completely upgraded in the past 4 years with regular attention to maintenance. It has been fully repainted in recent months. Heating is via electric fan forced wall heating units. Lighting is ceiling lights (some recessed) and room lamps

ALTHOUGH MOST COMFORTABLE FOR THOSE SEEKING 2 BEDROOM ACCOMODATIONS (ONE WITH A QUEEN BED AND ONE WITH A DOUBLE BED), THERE IS A DOUBLE FUTON IN THE LIVING ROOM THAT CAN PROVIDE EXTRA SLEEPING QUARTERS IF NEEDED

Parking is private and allows for ample room for more than one vehicle

Entry to the home is via its own private entrance. Upon entering the home, there is a small porch with a cupboard to the left and a walk in closet directly opposite the front door. Within the cupboard, there are some games and laundry supplies. A bench stool sits along the side of the porch for convenience in sitting to put on footwear. Inside the bi-fold closet doors, the area is semi-divided in two, with the left side containing a clothes rod, clothes hangers, a shelf with various board games / outdoor activity games, 2 recycling bins, and a floor fan. The other side contains a full sized, front opening, stackable washer and dryer. There is a lit tree attached to a small side table on the side of the porch adjacent to the French door

Exiting the front porch by French doors (sheers for privacy and to add to the atmosphere of the room), you enter the kitchen area. Within the kitchen are a full sized fridge and stove as well as a counter-top sized microwave and dishwasher. Also, there is a kettle, toaster, Keurig coffee machine with k-cups, a drip coffee perk, instant regular and decaf coffee, knife block with knives, saran wrap in dispenser, electric can opener, slow cooker, bread maker, casserole dish, salad spinner, air fryer, T-Fal slicer / spinner, rice cooker, storage containers, multiple frying pans and pots of various sizes, small roaster, tin-foil trays, wooden cutting board, strainer, mixer / blender combination appliance, mixing bowls, water dispenser with water bottle / replacement bottles, as well as an ample supply of dishes, cups, glasses, cutlery and utensils (including BBQ utensils). There is a pub sized kitchen table with 4 chairs as well as 2 bar-stool type chairs. We have various spices on a spice rack behind the stove as well as salt, pepper, sugar, flour, individual artificial sweeteners / sugar / peanut butter / jam / and butter, tea, hot chocolate, and many more items routinely stocked. Paper towels are found on the counter in a holder. Kitchen drawers are well stocked with dishcloths, dishtowels, and dish detergents. In the fridge, we stock individual creamers and, on the first day of the visit, 1 dozen eggs, fresh milk, fruit juice, and a loaf of bread. Garbage containers are found in the kitchen, bathroom, and both bedrooms. There is a wooden garbage box outside the house to dispose of garbage for pick-up. Various household cleaners are kept in the cupboard under the kitchen sink

There is a corner stand in the kitchen, on which there is a portable stereo system (the bottom cupboard section of the stand stocked with children's activity books and washable markers)

On the far side of the kitchen there is a closet which contains the boiler, a vacuum cleaner, broom, dust pan, mop, iron, and small counter-top ironing board

The kitchen has open concept with the living room. The far side of the living room provides a second exit from the house, through double patio doors (which open onto the back side of the patio). Furnishings in the living room include 2 full sized couches, one of which is a futon which opens into a double sized sleeping surface. Extra pillows are contained in the base of the futon. The second couch extends to recline position on both ends. A coffee table and end table are within reach of the couches. The 55 inch flat screen TV sits on a full sized electric fireplace (operated by remote control). We have a vast array of cable TV channels, a DVD player, and also Wii game systems with a limited number of games

Stairs leading to the second level of the house have a bookshelf at the base, on which there are tourism books and tourism maps, a book about Pouch Cove, also a document prepared by me depicting some points of interest in Pouch Cove, St. John's, and surrounding areas. High powered binoculars are made available at the home also

The first room encountered on the second level is the master bedroom which is equipped with a queen sized, pillow top sleigh bed with fresh linen and 4 pillows. Also adorning the room is a full sized dresser with mirror, 47 inch flat screened TV on an electric fireplace TV stand, and two small table end tables (on one sitting a large artificial flower display in a large vase; the other, an alarm clock). As you face the back wall of the room, there is a stand-alone sink on which sits provided liquid hand soap. On the rod to its left, there is a towel, facecloth, hair straightener, and a hairdryer. Behind the sink, there is a closet with clothes rods on both sides and on which are adequate supply of clothes hangers. Extra bed linens are found in an ottoman in the closet, extra blankets and an electric blanket on a small table within the closet. There is also an electric fan and dehumidifier

Exiting the master bedroom, there is a well-stocked linen closet to the right. In this closet, there are pillow protectors, pillow cases, small blankets / shoulder throws, facecloths, and towels of various sizes

To the right of the linen closet is the bathroom. The bathroom has a whirlpool tub and shower, new toilet, an over-toilet shelf (on which there are various toiletries, wash scrunchies, and mouthwash / disposable small glasses). The medicine cabinet over the single sink holds various medical supplies (bandaids, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, tylenol) as well as dental floss, toothbrushes, disposable razors, cotton balls). On the bathtub wall unit, there are shampoos, conditioners, and body wash. Under the bathroom sink, in the cupboard, there is extra toilet tissue, cleaners and spare kitchen garbage bags for the compact, lidded, garbage container

To the right of the bathroom is the second bedroom, which contains a double bed on which is fresh linen and 4 pillows. The room has a full sized dresser, alarm clock, floor fan, and a electric fireplace TV stand on which sits a 47 inch TV. At the left side of the room, there is a storage unit with extra linen. The bedroom has an open closet area as well as a three hook unit behind the bedroom door. Two windows provide a spectacular view of the ocean and surrounding neighborhood

Returning downstairs, we exit the house through the patio doors to gain entry to the oversized patio. There are various furnishings on the back patio (summer only), including a patio swing, a child patio swing, a 4-seater patio table with umbrella, a 2-seater glider, and a children's plastic stool. Note that, in the fall / winter season, patio furnishings are in storage. However, there will remain the 4 burner BBQ and a 2-seater wooden patio chair

A fence divides the vacation home patio from the main house's patio. Overlooking the back patio, there is a large back yard with mature trees providing privacy and shelter in season. A chestnut tree, in fact, extends its branches onto the deck of the vacation home, providing the most beautiful photo imaginable. There is an exit point off the back patio via a side gate, which is latched and on which there is a lock (key is on the main key ring provided at time of arrival to the home)

A gate opens onto the side patio, one step up from the back patio. This side patio is extremely private and is hidden from the main home. Mature trees shelter from the view of neighbors (both of whom live more than 200 feet away). There are no neighbors in front of the side patio and the view is that of the side garden, a small cliff, and, to the left, the ocean. On the other side of the side patio, a gate (again locked) exits and faces the front entrance

The vacation home is our pride and we wish to share it with you, as YOU deserve to capture this piece of paradise. We do our best to accommodate you and to anticipate your every need

Should you have equipment such as pedal bike, hiking equipment, skis, or other such things that you wish to store outside the house, we do have a large shed which is locked in which we can store your items during your stay

We take great pride our vacation house and are FIRM ON OUR POLICY OF NO SMOKING, DRUGS, OR LOUD PARTIES IN THE HOUSE

This home was a home that was in my husband's family since childhood. It is attached on one side and, in days gone by, owned by an uncle. In the winter of '16, we had opportunity to purchase the home. It has been a long-time dream to get the second home. Since purchasing it, we have committed great resources and time to matching standards of the first house, including constructing the extensive patio and working the yard. The home has been extensively renovated in the past couple of years (a process begun by the first owner, then taken over by us as of Jan '16). We absolutely love the home and now feel it is more complete, now that it is reunited with the other portion. Both homes operate independently of each other (the homes are completely separate and have separate electric meters, hot water boilers, etc). We take pride in the quality of soundproofing between the two homes. My husband and I would love to share our piece of paradise with you so, please, connect and book a visit !

Directions to our home:

Vacation home is located at 16A Connors Loop, Pouch Cove, NL, Canada

Travel north on Torbay Road (driving in the opposite direction from down-town St. John’s)

At the point of the traffic lights at the intersection of Torbay Road and Hebron Way, continue straight on Torbay Road. Approximately 3 kilometers from the Hebron Way / Torbay Road intersection, you will have the opportunity to travel either straight through Torbay or to turn left and enter the Torbay Bypass Road. If you took the Torbay Bypass Road, continue to the end, at which point the other route (which travels straight through Torbay Road with no turns) connects. Continue straight north toward Pouch Cove. Travelling through the communities, you will pass a gas station after about 1 kilometer, later Pouch Cove Pharmacy, a car repair shop, Pouch Cove postal outlet, and Pouch Cove town hall / fire station. You will come to a bridge, then the one stop sign in Pouch Cove (that facing a fork in the road just past the town hall and kiddie park). Keep to the right. You will soon see a fenced lookout area to the right. In just a few more feet, you will see Connors Hill to your left (at the base of the hill, there is a paved driveway leading to a house behind a green colored house). Drive up Connors Hill. Shortly after entering Connors Hill, you will pass a driveway on the left side of the road, a dark brown house on the right, and then the first of two access points to Connors Loop. Drive to the second access point to Connors Loop (just past the 2 - tone brown house on the right. The first access point is intended as an exit and not used as an entrance due to its steep slope). You should see a fire hydrant at the entrance to Connors Loop to your left. Enter this lane, drive past the light brown house on the left, turn at the corner of this house and you will see a yellow shed / yellow house in front of you. This is our house. Turn right after passing the shed. You can park here. You will then have arrived at the vacation house main entrance. Welcome !

Location Description

The rental home is located on Connor's Loop, a small side street off Connors Hill, Pouch Cove, NL. It is very private, as there are only 4 houses on this road (including the rental home and attached family home, both of which are a comfortable distance from the next house). Although the rental home shares one common side with the family home, we take pride in the quality of soundproofing the home provides

An Amazying stay with a wonderful view on the ocean with wonderful owners


We had a very nice trip in Pouch Cove, thanks to the owners who were perfect! The house was very clean with all the accomadations needed. I recommend this house for everyone who wants to visit this beautiful city.
