Welcome to Carolina Beach! Come live on the lake and walk to the beach! Visit the aquarium, Fort Fisher, 30 minute drive to downtown Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. We are what we call 'wet-bathing-suit' walking distance from the ocean. Wake up to beautiful lake views, walk to the boardwalk to experience the shops, and live music.
About this home:
This private bedroom is located upstairs on the front side of the home, and has lovely views of the neighborhood. You may see the ocean on clear days too! Private, walk-in closet, two dressers, and en-suite bathroom included. The room has a very comfortable queen bed, and linens, towels, and some toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) are provided.
Guests are welcome to spend as much time as they please in the shared spaces. These include the kitchen, living room, bathroom on the main level, and lower balcony. The garage is unavailable to guests as it is mostly storage, as is the spare room off the kitchen. Feel free to watch the shared Roku TV in the living room if you feel like staying in. The kitchen is available to all guests, and fully equipped for cooking and lots of storage. I provide non-perishable snacks for breakfast, and have a Keurig coffee maker to brew coffee, tea, hot coco and ciders. When you arrive please park on the left side of the driveway, the right side belongs to my neighbors. If you need more space you are welcome to park on the grass or in the street. There is very little traffic through here so street parking is free and safe.
About me/travel considerations:
I live here full time and often work from home, but try to give guests as much space as possible. I am a seamstress by trade and have two sewing machines set up in the living room, as it is the only space available for them. I ask that guests please do not touch, use, or play around with these machines as they are strong and fast and should only be operated by a skilled sewer. I am however, available for your sewing needs if you have a wardrobe malfunction or would like something whipped up during your stay!
I am also in a band, and we practice Thursday nights from 6pm to around 9pm, so we will be here and making some noise. If that is bothersome to you, I can provide you with recommendations for restaurants in town or activities to do out of the house, or earplugs :) But, if you want to hear some sweet rock n roll, and see how a band practice is run, you are more than welcome to check us out!
I have three very sweet cats who live here, they will most likely keep to themselves while you are here as they are very shy of strangers. But feel free to pet them if they let you! If you prefer to keep them out of your bedrooms, just keep your doors closed but be mindful of whether they get locked in and can't access their litter (located in the upstairs laundry closet). THIS IS NOT A SUITABLE LOCATION FOR THOSE WITH CAT ALLERGIES.
I live in a vacation town, and recognize that you have many listings to choose from that may be more 'typical' vacation homes, so I appreciate those guests who choose to stay with me.
We are directly on the public lake park that has walking/biking paths, paddle boats and kayaks for rent, and public events every weekend (April -October, and holidays). The town puts on a farmers market on Saturday mornings from 8-1, and they screen family movies for free under the stars on Sunday evenings from Memorial to Labor Day. It is a short walk to downtown Carolina Beach where you will find the boardwalk, main stage, and carnival, where the town puts on a spectacular fireworks show every Thursday evening at 9pm during the summer (Memorial day to Labor Day only). There are tons of delicious restaurants, lovely shops, and lively bars for your entertainment, and there is rarely a night when there isn't live music available.
Winter time brings the Island of Lights Festival, and lots of family fun for the holidays. We have a spectacular light display around the lake, and Santa visits the boardwalk on weekends for Christmas by the sea. There are lots of holiday festivities to enjoy all season long, including music, and holiday shows.+ More
