Halifax And Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Halifax (or Halifax Regional Municipality, HRM) is the capital of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Halifax was incorporated into Canada in 1841 and went on to become the large municipality it is today in 1996.

Arts and Recreation

Halifax's affordable prices make it a huge attraction for filmmakers all over North America. In addition, Halifax is the home of CBC's radio and television stations.

In Halifax you'll find the Atlantic Film Festival, the Atlantic Jazz Festival, Halifax Busker Festival, the Multicultural Festival, Greek Fest, and Shakespeare by the Sea.

Downtown you'll find lots of great hotspots, clubs, bars. It's always hopping!

If you're interested in a mini voyage, you can take the salt-water ferry across to Dartmouth and back. This ferry service has been running since 1752. Enjoy!

Dartmouth is surrounded by water - hence its nickname "City of Lakes." But, of course, there's a lot to do on land. Be sure to visit Alderney Landing, a cultural facility in downtown Dartmouth in which you'll find a convention centre, art gallery, farmer's market, theatre, and the Events Plaza for concerts and festivals. Check it out!
