About Holland, Michigan
Holland is a popular city situated in the western part of Michigan, USA. It is called "Holland" because the first Europeans to settle there were Dutch. The city's Holland museum pays homage to its proud Dutch heritage.
The Tulip City
Early May is probably the best time to visit Holland, Michigan, because that's when their famous Tulip Time Festival takes place. This highly-acclaimed festival has been going on since the 1930s. There are now an estimated 6,000,000 tulips planted throughout the city streets, parks, buildings and tourist attractions. It's no wonder Holland is nicknamed "The Tulip City"!
In addition to the tulips, there are live performances, Dutch dance concerts, parades, fireworks, children's events, trolley tours, a Dutch market, and much more at the festival.
