Marine Drive & Eastern Shore, Ontario
The Eastern Shore is a beautiful spot on the Atlantic coast. It runs from Halifax Harbour to the Strait of Canso. It is fast becoming a popular cottage region because of its beautiful beaches and parks - Lawrencetown, Clam Harbour, Martinique, and several small islands.
Marine Drive is a scenic route that runs along the Eastern Shore. Hop on Route 322 and Highway 111, and enjoy the trip down Marine Drive. There are many stops you can make along the drive. Be sure to check out the Fisherman's Life Museum, for instance, and the Old Hall Wilderness Heritage. Also, enjoy the wonderful parks - such as Tor Bay Park and the Marie Joseph Provincial Park.
Stillwater is a lovely little place near Sherbrook. With a population of only 200 people, it's a peaceful and quiet getaway. Indeed, Sherbrook is well worth the trip for its beautiful natural scenery.
When in Stillwater, check out "The Bambino" - the place at which Babe Ruth fished and stayed on many occasions.
Indian Harbour Lake
For a great view of the lake, and excellent food, go to "Lakeside Restaurant and Take-Out" in Indian Harbour Lake (which is a part of Guysborough County). Close by, you'll find the popular and breathtaking ocean sand beach of Port Hilford - a popular place for summer vacationers.
