Quaint, Clean and Cozy
As this was our first trip to Boston and the New England area, we were not too sure what to expect so I planned for the worst knowing that pictures can be deceiving, however, we were both pleasantly surprised. While I knew that this property would be small, I was pleased with how roomy it really was. The kitchen and bath were nicely updated. The kitchen had beautiful granite countertops and newer cabinets and the shower was nicely tiled. The bedroom and sitting area were perfectly cozy. It was equipped with everything we needed (fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot, etc.) It was, in my opinion, perfectly situated within walking distance of just about everything we wanted to see and if it wasn't, Uber was very user friendly and we never had to wait more than five minutes. The local pub, Rocco's, is one block away and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. (p.s. they have the best lobster roll I've had thus far and highly recommend trying it!) We usually ended our day of adventure there for a nightcap before returning to our home away from home. If I had anything negative to say it would probably be that the bathroom is super tight when you sit down so for any man over 5' 7" he would probably have to leave the door open - and upon entering the building, the hallway did smell of cigarette smoke pretty bad, but the unit was very clean and did not smell the same - thankfully. You needed two keys - one to enter the building and one to enter the unit, so we did feel very safe. As our host recommended, we did not and would not recommend bringing a car as we noted that parking is very difficult to find anywhere in the Boston area. The rates were a little on the high side, but comparable to a decent hotel in the area but with more privacy and overall space. Bottom line, I would recommend this property and would stay again if we ever return to Boston in the future. Thank you for the experience. pps. If I had to make a recommendation, provide an umbrella for your guests to use along with more than one roll of toilet paper. We bought extra at the corner 7-11 and left it behind for the next visitor. :)
