We spent a couple of nights at Hale Pikake after our plans to camp at the Volcano Nat'l Park campground fell through. Booking the home was quick and easy. The house itself is in a nice, quiet location in a neighborhood of the town of Volcano. The home is completely as advertised on VRBO and was very spacious for our family of four. Because it has 3 bedrooms, our kids "picked" their rooms and each had their own space. Although we weren't "home" much, it was nice to have a home-base from our day excursions. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood looking in the morning. I only wish we could have stayed longer! We got takeout from the Thai truck one night, which was enough for leftovers on our second night. The kitchen had coffee and tea and was perfect for all of our needs. The home has a washer and dryer so I was able to do a load of laundry, which was really great. The only thing that was a bit odd was that the side door was wide open when we returned to the house on our second day; I suspect the cleaning person was there to put some sheets and towels away that were in the dryer, but it did catch us by surprise a bit! Thanks for a wonderful stay! We hope to be back again someday!
