Immaculately clean, small and very hot in the summer!
The studio is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. It is a basement studio under the stairs to the condo above. You can hear people walking upstairs and moving things around which at times vibrates the room. There are NO windows that open and it is hot! There is the front door and a back door which leads to a hotter small laundry room with egress. I am a woman who was staying there alone (visiting family several blocks away. I didn't want to stay with them in their small, crowded quarters). I was worried about my safety. Mark left me a magnetic screen which fastens with velcro to the outside walls and magnets to keep it closed. I hung this up when I got there at night. This worked well, however, I had to sleep with the door wide open to get fresh air and ventilation. Needless to say, this was not too safe. There is a ceiling fan and a wonderful small fan but when not in the path of the fan, it is hot. Mark brought me another fan which I suppose helped. There are numerous beach items: surf boards, boogie boards, chairs, towels, pails, shovels etc. I would like to speak about Mark. He is a very kind, compassionate man who only wants his guests to be happy while on vacation. I let him know that the studio needed, coffee filters, silverware, a outdoor bulb, paper towels and a few other items. These items were there when I returned at the end of the day complete with a pound of coffee. I would like to suggest that an air conditioner be put in the unit. There are several models that are stand alone or ones that can attach to the wall as well as units that can be vented outside. A hole could be made in the plexi-glass window covering to be vented outside. There is a nice television and the unit has wi-fi. For me, the biggest issue was the lack of ventilation and safety concerns because I had to sleep with the door open. I would have rated this 2-2.5 stars but Mark's attention and compassion gives it a 3. I appreciate all that Mark did for me to enhance my stay. Thank you Mark!
