A wonderful homey feeling.
My family chose Big Bear Lake to get away, bond together and enjoy the woods and wonder. This cabin in the woods, not far from the main road, provided plenty of room as we ventured around the lake. We also wanted to e-tox (without electronics) while we enjoyed nature, so the lack of super-fast high speed internet did not bother us. We did break down to watch the Olympic coverage on DirecTV. The surrounding area was full of twigs and branches for the outdoor fireplace. The kitchen was great for grilling up a trout that we got from the lake. Although the bunks beds creaked and groaned, it was soon forgotten after a day kayaking and swimming in the lake. We enjoyed laying on the driveway and watching the meteor show which would have gotten lost in the glare of the city lights. The city area was also close at hand with a delightful classic car show on the weekend we visited. After growing up in the Rocky Mountains I look forward to visiting again sometime to enjoy the winter snow and wonderland of the area. Come enjoy and discover nature again!
