A friend & I wanted a chance to hang out near the park and do some hiking. We are both moms of toddlers, who came along for the adventure. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable it is, and we are probably picky consumers with having small children. It's also bigger than it looks in the pictures. It rained the entire time we were there, so we didn't do as much hiking as hoped. We were thankful for such a nice place to be considering we had two very active toddlers being cooped up in the home. They also enjoyed exploring the grass, trees, etc. in the yard. We loved being so close to the park, and to volcano village, especially the Thai Thai restaurant. The last time I was on the Big Island, I stayed at the Kilauea Military Camp. This was a much better accommodation for approximately the same price. The only thing that was mildly bothersome was the strong smell of the cleaning agents. I think it was the toilet bowl cleaner that stays in there. There were a lot of windows, though, and it was easy enough to air out. We all had a very nice time. Thank you!
