Peaceful escape off the beaten path.
We stayed at Mark's for 12 days. It was very magical. The property is a palm preserve and very close to the tidepools and hot ponds. It's about an 8 mile drive into Pahoa town so be prepared to be off the grid. Mark was ever at the ready with any questions or requests we had. The house was beautifully appointed and comfortable. There's breezes in the palms and frogs to lull you to sleep and amazing stargazing. We grilled every evening and enjoyed dips in the saline pool. FYI there's not a full kitchen in the traditional sense and some accommodations must be made for the off-the-grid energy situation, but it was all good. Highly recommended for those who want a quiet place away from major tourist action.
