A REAL home away from home
Let me make one thing clear: this not a lake house...it is a lake HOME From the moment we stepped through the door we felt at home: comfortable and relaxed. Richard's home is comfortably furnished with quality antiques scattered about, a well-equipped kitchen (even a waffle iron and old-fashioned espresso pot!), artwork on the walls that are gallery-worthy (Richard himself did the oils!). Two full bathrooms with plush quality towels add to the home-like feel. And what can I say about the outdoor space: a tri-level deck that has to be 500 square feet; a dining area with gas grill, several lounge chairs to sunbathe, read, sip cocktails, snooze or watch the magnificent sunsets; enough space to exercise, do yoga or play ping-pong (sorry, you'll have to bring you own table!) And those views: the house sits in a private, quiet cove at one end of Bauneg Beg Lake where one gets a long view of water, pine trees, boaters and people having fun...and don't forget those sunsets. There is a boathouse containing rafts, tubes and floats; three steps off the deck and you're wading in a sandy-bottom lake with gradual decline into deeper water...what could be more relaxing. The only negative comment I have is that we didn't rent longer....but I'm already penciled in for next year!! Anthony Simonelli New York City
