Overall, a good place to stay
We had 6 adults stay here for 3 nights. Overall, the stay was nice - the condo was mostly clean and updated, and it was relatively close to the village. Unfortunately, communication with the owner proved to be an issue. I never received information about check-in, which I had to message him about on two separate occasions before I received a response. When he finally responded about checking in, he also told me (a day or two before our arrival) that a maintenance person would be installing a new washing machine during our stay. He said it should be around noon and only take about an hour. The maintenance person was there (in and out of the condo) for almost 4 hours, and it was during the late afternoon when we had all come back from skiing. He was very polite, but it was a pretty big inconvenience. Finally, we found dirty baking sheets in the oven, which was pretty gross. The condo itself was nice, and we had a great time in Whistler, but I would prefer to stay somewhere with an owner who communicates better and respects the time/privacy of renters.
The owner left the following response...I am really sorry that the communication was not instant. It seems that emails I send thru canada stays email relay don't get to my guests so from now on I will ask for my guests' direct emails so this won't happen again. I am sorry for this and thanks for letting us know. You aren't the only one that has brought this up and I will inform Canada Stays about this. If you want to visit again we will offer you a discount to compensate you for your inconvenience. Gary
